In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Shannon, reread your post.

maybe you can figure out why people are slamming you!

Trolls? who's calling names now?

What would you call someone posting a bad guy thread full of lies and overexaggerations in order to get people all riled up? I call them a troll as well.

Well Ed, Maybe you missed this... He is proud to be a troll. For you that are not familiar with the term, Trolling (like fishing) is to get a rise out of people. Regardless of the validity of the statement.

Yes Ed, I realize I have typos... I'm not worried about that.

Sabrina... It's been 3 weeks! Of course it's cleaned up! And if you think that Chuckie looks good, I guess you haven't seen one in the wild! ;)

Look at the belly on that thing. See how deflated that is. Here's what it should look like. Thanks for posting that one!

You may want to read up on collared lizards. They will inflate themselves as a defense mechanism. If that collared I was holding felt threatened, I'm sure it would look a lot bigger.

Anyways, back to more photos, just for you.

I just hope we don't see the same mess in a couple months. :)
My pictures were taken not even a week after you put the thread up; you would have us believe that the store went from how you described it to THIS in less than a week?!
I think as long as you can find something else to do, other than picking on others, we won't see this same mess again in a couple months.

oh and by the way, Excavator is the substrate being used in some enclosures, ontop of that some are being kept on rabbit pellets (which according to tom is incorrect) well again please direct this info to AZRC because they keep quiet a few animals on the pellets.

also about 3 or 4 days ago, tom you tried spreading the fauna thread all over facebook in groups and what not, how come you had to ask for help to "spread the word" as you were banned from most facebook groups, surely they don't ban reasonable, polite individuals?

Still got more photos coming as I can upload them. This internet is not the fastest.

Also, it's kind of sad I have to mention this but the mentality on this thread makes me feel like I need to... the algae in that water dish in the previous post was cleaned out by the time I left the store.

Four full water dishes and an adorable little savannah monitor enjoying a snack. Those guys were a blast to watch eat. I bought my savvy when it was already fully grown, so I didn't get the chance to see him grow up. SO CUTE!

also ANYONE who has ever rehabbed a lizard/snake knows that animals don't go from a "dilapidated" "emaciated" "in need of immediate medical care" state to fat and plump in as little as 3 weeks. takes months of consistent feedings to slowly put weight back on, medication if needed along with additional care i.e soaks for shed issues and what not.

again Tom, had you had more photos to begin with, that show these dilapidated animals it might have been believable.

also any store I have ever walked into and have seen a truly questionable situation the first thing I do is call someone over, talk to them find out whats going on, offer advice on how to correct the situation and even go so far as offering to take the animal off their hands since they may not be able to offer additional care for said animal.

you also bashed Shannon on his Enclosures for being small? or "lockers" with animals jammed up in them... go talk to petsmart with 3 to 4 animals "jammed" up in 1 gallon boxes with improper conditions. there are 3 different size enclosures all with UVA and or UVB in his store.

You mean *chuckwallas* right?

Three weeks later... Bunch of drama, threats. My childhood revisited... I love it! Thank you for finally getting stuff done! Who do I owe it to? Payson PD, AZGF, or you Shannon? Either way! THANK YOU! I just hope we don't see the same mess in a couple months. :)

Oh Tom, you sure are reaching now... Rodent water bottle? Oh, you mean the Zoo Med Repti Rock Reservoir? I can see how you could confuse the two... Since I didn't have time to clean up (this huge mess you claim was here) before you called the police, they would have sided with you right? Oh wait, why is it that I can press charges for filing a false report? Hmm You are falling apart Tom.

Yeah, still ignoring the facts... Someone throw Tommy Boy a life-vest, he's drowning here.

I have regular customers from both Payson PD and AZFG. If there was ever an issue, they would have dealt with it. Since I've never been cited, there is not now or ever an issue.

Some more pictures from the store. Will post more.

From left to right, two crested geckos, two gargoyles, and a single leachianus in each the other two (one is out of the photo). All of these geckos looked plump and extremely healthy.

The cage holding the crested geckos was getting a quick clean (notice the lack of lock), so some of the decor was dismantled.

Water dish! WATER DISH! :D

Ok, I think that's all of the photos I got worth sharing. Matt mostly took photos of the store itself because I was taking photos of the reptiles. I think he has a few more he is going to share but... other than that, I hope we helped dismantle the theory this store was in shambles and all of the reptiles were sickly or dying.

On a side note: Let's pretend these reptiles were in poor condition, which I do not believe one bit, how would they have recovered in three weeks? Oh, I'm sure certain someone will have an excuse or something to explain it... but let your eyes be the judge. I firmly believe this store has the animal's best interests in mind and has learned from this experience.

Finally, I am very disappointed such a big deal was made out of one photo (aside from the obvious and legitimate concerns regarding the collared itself, which has been addressed) and so many accusations were made without any proof. So much hearsay and he said she said... but I do understand, there are a lot of cruddy people out there. I stand behind my opinion when I say the store overall is much, MUCH better than some have made it out to be.

But seriously... one photo? This is the part that blows me away.

Sad that it took 2 1/2 wks to straighten the place out. It's amazing what one picture will accomplish!

They had a lot of pride! You guys n gals/AE are acting like you should get a 6 ft long trophy and check for doing WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ALL ALONG! Honestly... I can't stop laughing about that.

In the end, a kid always has to get hit on a street before the City drops speed bumps on that block. I guess this Collard was that kid! The review from 2011 holds weight... I see a couple more were added recently as well. :)

But... Good work guys n gals! It must have taken a "Herculean effort," and 3 weeks to get that store 'presentable!'

the video is comical? really man what world do you point a fire arm at someone in a "comical" method. that is scary man you pointed your gun at your gf.. A GUN TOM... do you not have any idea how overall irresponsible that is, loaded or not? your not marine ,i'd say poor judgement ability is probably why if an any military saw this they'd be concerened.

If this was a forum about gun safety, I would touch on the subject of him walking around his house, pointing a gun at a people. Since you want to talk about a "military" seeing this, I'll tell you what stands out in this thread. One of the first things you learn in the military, is to take responsibility for your actions. Now, if Tom posted this thread and Shannon Long came in, apologized, and fixed the situation ASAP, this thread would have never gone past 3-5 pages. That's the issue that has fueled the thread to continue for almost 30 pages. If the store owner was cooperative and had the customer-service skill to listen and fix the problems he had in his store, he may have even received a  from Tom and others in the community.

That's because it did not take that long to clean it up. It was already clean in the first place. I was up at the store around 4/16-18 and again a little over a month ago. At least one other person, lizbot, has said the shop was in good shape as well. It simply took this much time for anyone to post photos to back it up. As Tom stated before, his lack of phptos gave him plausible deniability.. but I already know who you are going to side with simply because you have been boosting his ego this whole thread. ;)

Where is anyone acting like they deserve a trophy? Honestly, Tom, like I stated above this store was not in the condition you made it out to be now or before.

It must be nice to see Yelp reviews from people who haven't visited the store themselves. How unfortunate.

Why would you post this:

Tom bashed the store. If you bash a store, they probably are not going to apologize. That's common sense.
Now, if Tom had said something while he was at the store, this thread would not be here.
Tom has still only provided one picture as proof to back up his claim while others have provided pictures to back up their claims.
In this case the saying,"one picture is worth a thousand words" does not mean much. But if you want to look at it that way, it is one thousand words vs several thousand words.

I don't see this thread going anywhere other than in circles. Constant excuses are being made. Oh, that's not the same snake I saw. Oh, it's been three weeks since the thread was posted, they had enough time to clean the store. I can keep going...

Would it be appropriate to say this thread is beating a dead horse? Seriously, there are how many photos of the store being clean, four of which are from around a week after this post was made? And how many photos of the dilapidated store, and all the dying animals and feces covered cages? Oh, wait, those weren't feces they were rocks... and I actually have a photo to prove that.

Now there are yelp reviews that are leaving one star reviews about a store they have never visited. That is disappointing.

Really, anything negative to say has already been said numerous times. We get it. All of these accusations and one photo of a single cage out of how many in the store?

Tom, you've made your point about the collared lizard. But let's move on to some constructive/creative criticism... something this whole thread has been lacking 100%.

One picture looked bad but come on if it was that bad in the store u couldnt take more pics how do we know the store wasnt that clean to begin with and we got many people saying it was clean and one guy saying it was bad who do we believe just cause you can type good and have a lot of post and look like a bully on here i use to think people with a lot of post had something to say but know i think some r punks with nothing better to do

Keep ignoring the fact that the store was never in the shape Tom claimed. Tom keeps saying it was, but failed to prove it. We on the other hand have proven the store is and was clean (maybe not perfect). We have also established that the animals are and have been cared for.

Also, the only reason Tom's personal issues were brought up was to show he lacks any credibility.
