    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Having some difficulty with private messaging lately.... I get notifications about the PM through my E-mail but when I click the link to go read it my Inbox shows it is empty. I've tried different routes like not clicking the link and just accessing the PM inbox through the site and it's all the same. Am I missing something here or some particular way I have to go about this to just read a message? Thanks in advance!

Another person contacted me about PM issues (PMs not being received by the other party). I haven't had any luck figuring out what's going on or replicating the issue (I've been able to send and receive PMs).

Perhaps it has something to do with how the site is accessed. Are you using a tablet or phone?

Hmmmm - have you tried logging out and signing back in, deleting cookies, etc?


I'd noticed that a lot of my PMs weren't getting responses - figured they were just being ignored.
In retrospect, I have been receiving a lower volume of PMs....but I've had email notifications turned off for years, so I figured people were just leaving me alone, lol.
 
I have tried to log out and then log back in. I don't know how to delete cookies so I haven't tried that. Will do so. I think I can still send PM just not receive... Few months back I sent a PM and I *think* they replied but my inbox said it was empty. I figured maybe they didn't send me one and it was just a glitch.

When I tried responding to the last one you sent me, I got a message that it couldn't be delivered since your PM box was full.

Separate issue. My mailbox reaches capacity quite regularly. If I'm saving a bunch of messages for follow-up, I can't always purge them.....Even if i wipe it right out, it's generally full within 4-6 weeks at the most (unless I'm laying low)

After all the notifications in my E-mail I finally received a message in my inbox. This is the e-mail I opened and followed the link.

Looks like it is working now. :thumbsup:

My programmer checked into it and apparently what was causing this problem was that there were actually three registrations for your user name. My programmer said that this can happen when the server is excessively slow for some reason, and a new user will think their original registration did not take, and therefore jump the gun and make one or more identical registrations. ALL of which somehow get accepted by vBulletin. Seems like a bug to me, but it is what it is, I suppose.

So it's possible that others may have this same problem, but it is likely quite rare.
 
Thank you so much! I think I remember making others (at least one other) and forgetting about it or the password and just making a new one... Sorry about that! I've started writing down all my accounts and passwords so stuff like that doesn't happen anymore.
