In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy David Huffman of Virginia(BAD TRADE)

I'm glad your transaction went well but I take exception to this comment in your "Good Guy" post.
He manned up for what he had done to the others so I took a chance with him.
"Manning up" is not just admitting that you were a thief but taking care of the people you stole from before you move on. A "man" would have sent you your ball python and had you send your payment directly to his previous victims.

I'm glad your transaction went well; but, with all respect to both of you, it doesn't make him a good guy. He's trying to win people over right now...I'll give him credit for his efforts; but I believe his past to be more involved/extensive than you are aware. I truly hope that he has changed; but it will take more than a single ship first sale to convince me.

Harald. I'm not trying to convince you or anyone for that matter. I'm simply stating my experience with David. That's all. This is not a debate to me but simply a great transaction. That's all. Like I said take it for what it's worth.

Nope - you're not trying to convince anybody. I understand that.
David is; this thread is about him.
Once again, I'm glad your transaction went well.

I want to hear about the people you reached out to & "made whole" AFTER you changed.

A "man" would have sent you your ball python and had you send your payment directly to his previous victims.

Have I missed it? Has anyone from the past been made whole yet? Have we heard from anyone yet? David have you done anything to make anyone whole yet, anyone you can get to come here and vouch for you? How about sending the snakes you are currently selling to the past people as pay back?

We have heard plenty of "sorry", but how about righting the wrongs? You know the actions speak loader than words part. As far as I can telling we have heard sorry solely for the purpose of making future sales.

Am I missing something?

I've paid for what I've done. Returned reptiles, cash, as well as spend time in jail. I do not owe anyone else anything. I will continue to do right and be a productive member of the reptile community. I made mistakes and I paid for them. But even more ....I've learned and changed a lot. I know there will be people who do not want me here and will always judge me. And that's fine. I accept that. People will see through continued transactions that I am an open honest person now. My actions will show that. Have a good day.

Quite honestly it was with a lot of reluctance that you were allowed back on here. So the burden is on YOU to prove yourself. No one who knows of your past history is going to take your professed change of heart at face value. So if the people you wronged in the past have been made whole again, I think YOU making the effort to get them to come here and verify that will go a long LONG way to proving your sincerity.

You are being given another chance. Don't blow it.

I've paid for what I've done.

As several have already said, let's see proof of those payments. Your continued efforts to ignore those requests speaks for itself, I feel as if you had actually made payment, you would be happy to show proof.

I owe u nothing. I've paid for what I've done and that's the bottom line. I'm not hunting anyone down for anything. I'm sorry but I'm just not going to try and locate or find people to come on here to speak for me. I will continue to do right and I will continue to be productive. That's all I can and will do.

I owe u nothing. I've paid for what I've done and that's the bottom line. .

I guess it is a matter of perspective. Valid point that everyone in this thread received their animals back.

The three people that sent you animals that responded in this thread reported back with the help of another member received their animals back and with continued pressure received the shipping funds back as well. The person that was out cash also reported back after much time and actions on her part that she also received her cash back.

So they are even in your eyes, I guess.

There was no restitution for their headaches, troubles and time wasted on trusting you. You talk about your penalties by the law but what did that do for them?

Look, I actually hope that you make a strong comeback, be a upstanding member of this community, reptile hobby and the public at large. Who wouldn't? I guess we will see when problems occur as to how you handle them.

I actually do believe people can better themselves and change. The problem is that percentage of those that do is very small. Overtime will see.

Besides those people that were scammed by you, you have threaten violence to them and others, taken others pictures to use in your ads, made up many fake names. That's a lot for people to take in and just just take your word that you have changed.

Like I stated earlier
You're going to have much to prove and be able to handle the fallout from your past decisions and what you have done to others.
Even if you have changed, it's not going to be easy. I'm sure you will have a opportunity to show it with the criticisms and comments that are sure to come your way.

It appears you now have one good transaction under your belt. Great for you. That's not going to lessen the comments for now about what you have done.

To start getting defensive isn't going to help either. You deserve the comments you are getting. You should understand that and take them well.

David are you willing to make a promise that you will no longer infringe photos for your ads or threaten people?
That would be a start (as well as honest dealings with sales).
If you publicly promise not to infringe, and then use photos from others without permission, the infringement will not be difficult to catch and will serve as an indicator.

Clean ads with original photos and clean dealings, those will be indicators as well, positive ones.

.

I actually do believe people can better themselves and change.

I believe this too, and I appreciate that Dennis put this here. Sometimes, we all need to be reminded that everyone has a choice every day, whether to do right or wrong. You are different from a lot of the bad guys in that you are publicly distancing yourself from your prior behaviors.
I'm sure your future transactions will be scrutinized pretty closely, (and that's justifiable, people have every right to be very careful here) and I hope they all go well.

I personally don't think an apology and saying "I promise" will cut it. After reading through all this I for one would never do business with the guy, nor would anyone I know personally. Reputations can and do follow people around for a long, long time......and the internet has a long memory.

I've been in the business for a long time and the #1 rule has always been: Be honest first, whether buying or selling. A little honesty goes farther than ANY apology.
