In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Tried to sell Rhino iguanas asking for payment using paypal friends option. Hes now banned - I:angry: wonder why!

Is this thread solely because he asked for the Paypal payment to be sent as friends/gift?
If so, that does not mean he is a Bad Guy.
Sure, it is against Paypal's policy to send a purchase payment, via the friends/gift option, and no seller should request it (nor make the buyer pay the Paypal fees if that were to ever come about) but, again, not quite "Bad Guy" worthy.:shrug01:

Clearly, the OP begs to differ. Since the thread's been posted in the proper format, it's here to stay. It'll just have to be up to individual readers to decide just how much of a Bad Guy the seller's actions make him.

OP, you may want to post the correspondence, for posterity's sake.

Meant to add ...
If he is wanting you to send payment, to another person's account (i.e. a friend, co-worker, etc.), it does not, automatically, make him a "Bad Guy". However, I would agree with being very wary of, and tread carefully with, that person.
With only one particular situation aside, I would not send money, to a Paypal account, where the seller, and Paypal account, names do not match.
Is there more, to this story, that would positively show this person to be an actual "Bad Guy"?

I will say that it's pretty hard to make an argument for such a seller to be considered much of a Good Guy. He's simultaneously trying to defraud PayPal out of their fees and putting buyers in a position where they'll have no recourse through PayPal.

I don't care about the format (how the OP posted it) or if it is here to stay.
I am saying that there is no proof of this person being a Bad Guy (scammer, etc.,) and that for solely the reason, that was pointed out, does not automatically make a person a Bad Guy (scammer, etc.) nor does it conclusively prove a person is a Bad Guy (scammer, etc.).
Now, if the OP has some other info, proof, etc., to show, then it may change things.

You're obviously making the mistake of thinking that your opinion is gospel and should be shared by all. Sadly, you're wrong. Your definition of what makes someone a "Bad Guy" simply isn't particularly relevant. Others WILL disagree with you, I assure you. IF the OP's claims are true, this thread absolutely does have merit.

Never said I agree with a seller doing this. Although many sellers do it, I think it is wrong.
However, it still does not automatically prove that the person is going to scam a buyer.
With the number of sellers, who do request payment be sent, as a gift (or with buyer paying fees), this BOI would be filled, to the gills, with names.

Now, if this is a case of seller having one name, and the Paypal account has a different name (or seller claims it is a friend's Paypal account), I would be very wary and, with only one exception, would not do business with them. Again, does not automatically make a person a Bad Guy (scammer, etc.), nor does it prove the person is a scammer, but it sure is something that should put a buyer on high alert to beware.

Where did I say my word is gospel? It is my opinion. You don't have to agree with me. I was just trying to explain where I am coming from.
Just don't understand why you are behaving the way you are. Did someone steal your cookies?

I absolutely does prove that the seller is trying to scam PayPal, so even based solely on that, let's hear your argument against the idea that this seller is a "scammer".

And with each of those threads, it'd still be up to the readers to decide just what the subject's actions mean to them.

You're wasting your time by continuously whining about the OP's choice of the thread's header icon. Not only is that pointless, I suspect that it'd be considered very much off-topic.

You're absolutely stating that it's wrong to consider the seller a scammer or Bad Guy, based solely on your belief that what the seller is doing doesn't constitute a "scam". We get it - you don't think he is. Luckily, neither the OP nor the subsequent readers are bound by your sensibilities. If you're still not picking up what I'm putting out, it'd be pointless to waste any more time on you.

I agree that it is trying to scam Paypal if request is made that payment be sent as a gift (so seller does not have to pay fees).
I am simply saying that it does not mean/prove that the seller is going to scam the buyer.
That said, I would recommend that nobody send payment as a gift. I sure wouldn't send payment, to a seller, as a gift.

With that, there still needs to be clarification, from the OP, if that is even the case or if it is a case of different names (seller vs. Paypal account).

I don't know if you are intentionally attempting to be antagonistic, or if you are actually dense, but ... my posts have nothing to do with the OP's title/icon choice.
Whining? That's rich.
With that, I am done trying to discuss anything with you.

I just sent him a payment and am now reading this...he said he'd ship a diamondback terrapin at the latest on wednesday with overnight shipping to me, and it is now thursday with nothing yet, but UPS comes around 6 and its 3:38. Did I get scammed...?

So, now it matters just who someone intends to scam? Scamming an insanely rich corporate entity is somehow better than scamming Joe Blow?

my posts have nothing to do with the OP's title/icon choice.

Considering that this thread's header - that white "X" in the red circle - is the only instance of the OP coming close to explicitly referring to the seller as a "Bad Guy," I'd sure love to hear the epic failure of logic that brought you to the above statement. :yesnod: Can't imagine where I could have possibly gotten that impression....

If so, that does not mean he is a Bad Guy.

I think I've already abundantly illustrate my point. Unless something new and relevant comes along, there's not much more to say. Go ahead and have the last word. ;)

That ad was under a different screen name. What Paypal address did you send to? Any other identifying information?

Thank you for that confirmatory information. Just wanted to be sure.

Open a Paypal claim. Say the item was not delivered. Do not get generous with details. Just say the item was not delivered.
