In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

As of right now I haven't heard back since he emailed me after I called him. To be fair the site we usually communicate on is down I believe. We were supposed to work out something for this week

Good news,
John and I got into contact last week and scheduled a date for shipment yesterday.
He let me know the tegu was shipped and I received her this morning. The packing was well done and she seems to be in good health.
I would like to thank everyone who assisted in this thread. It looks as though this all might have been a loss of communication due to life issues, but I am glad for all the help from this board and about how things turned out.
John and I got into contact last week and scheduled a date for shipment yesterday.

I just noticed that this post was on here. I wish I was alerted sooner!
Anyway, I wish to at least make a few points clear or somewhat salvage my reputation on the BOI.
-Tannaros/Alec DID receive the tegu, though I cannot deny I had communication issues due to difficult personal situations that I wish did not affect him.
-I am by no means a "bad guy" and will always be in the reptile hobby, the reason I felt the need to post on this old topic and show some sort of presence.
-All of my reptiles are my pets, and I keep few. On the rare occasion I have animals for sale, they are exceptionally healthy and well cared for as I am not a breeder [yet], dealer, importer, etc.
-I have had a number of sales/transactions and can provide references if ever needed.
I just hate to see "Bad Guy" come up when you search my name, but at least I have the chance to defend myself. The situation in this thread was very unfortunate and I understand how it looks.
In the end, I recall that he was very happy with the tegu. I have only ever sold exceptionally healthy animals and hope to make a better impression in the future.

I have not read the thread, just these last couple of comments. It appears you are correct John, whatever happened, in the end it got resolved and he was happy.
I bought a female Burmese black tortoise from John. More accurately, my wife bought her from John last February (2014) in NC (where she was on assignment for work at the time). Then I drove there during one ice storm, picked my wife and the tortoise up, and drove back to MO during another ice storm. The tortoise is exceptionally nice and is one of our more personable ones and is well adjusted to living with our dogs from the time spent living with John's dogs. Depending on how things play out, we hope she may someday bless us with some interesting offspring if fortune strikes us so.
I had attempted to buy this same tortoise from John in 2013, but communication was extremely spotty/infrequent/incomplete despite my attempts and I could not get follow-up responses then, so I am guessing the same personal issues referenced in this thread may have been at play at that time. Luckily for me, my perseverance paid off the year after.
I am attaching photos of her in a NC hotel shower and enjoying tortoise room service before I brought her back here as well as one of her getting a neck rub in my yard.
I am pleased with my deal with John and would do business with him again if he had something I had use for.
