In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Mr. Lopez at Black Forest Constrictors is a small individual boid breeder working with some cool morphs and well known blood lines. His lovely snakes are offered below average market price in many cases due to his limited space (he's got to move offspring at a good rate) and his name not being well known. I myself found his stock listings right here on Fauna Classifieds and used the BOI to decide if ordering from someone so little known was a safe investment for me. I have to say like the couple of BOI postings before mine that I am a satisfied customer and Ash had exactly what I was looking for (I didn't know what I was looking for until I saw it) at a price I could budget (I tend to end up spending more money than what I say I want to spend on a particular species). The Black Forest Constrictors website doesn't work but the contact info is viewable and up to date. Being a small breeder his annual stock is limited but full of beauties and gems worth their price.

Ash answered my questions within a reasonable amount of time, though I wish his replies were more thorough rather than quick 1 liners. Still I did get the information I needed and he was open for talking briefly on the phone for me to learn more about the animal in depth. I was looking for a docile animal to be a pet and potentially an educational animal with a possibility of breeding it. Ash was understanding of my concern with the snake's temperament and genetic background. Much to my surprise and delight he didn't turn me down for a payment plan as many a seller has, so he was very accommodating. He was trusting of me, considerate of my financial situation and of my feeling of not wanting to drop a bunch of cash on an animal I didn't get to have for several months due to inappropriate shipping weather. Not sure if he has any set policies on payment plans (minimum purchase amount, percent of deposit down, repayment term, etc).

Okay so now onto the animal I received. My boy matched his description in photo, size, and temperament. Just as beautiful in person with good color saturation and a joy to finally hold. Attached are 2 of the breeder's photos (the first 2) taken at different times and then 2 of my own photos (the last 2) from when I unpacked him for comparison. A well represented, healthy, tongue flicking, curious, shiny, animal without a scale out of place and at an amazing cost. My only complaint about the animal is that I can tell from the time I placed money down to the time I could recieve him that he lost some weight. He was by no means an unhealthy weight just not at the weight I personally thought he should be at. Photos are below to judge for yourself (photo 1 is the breeder's listing photo, photo 2 from two months later at 75% paid off, photo 3&4 my photos from after I unboxed him). I was informed that he did only received large meals biweekly rather than being fed modest meals at least once a week as is believed the proper method for baby snakes. The snake himself has no problems eating and nails f/t at the speed of light then death spirals around it in a way I have not personally experienced. It's an amazing experience to have the opportunity to feed such a powerful animal. Even when I was a snake afraid child boas captured my curiosity more than my fear so it's a dream come true to own such a powerful yet gentle beast. I am so glad that Mr. Lopez worked with me and gave me the opportunity to make owning such an amazing animal possible for me. Glad he was willing to part with this little gem. I would suggest Black Forest Constrictors if someone asked me where they could find a nice boa at a good price.

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed review for others to read.

No problem. I like to be thorough with reviews because those are the kids I really like to read myself. I want to give people a good sense of the true nature of the whole transaction, how I personally felt about everything, and what I know of the breeder's background and methods.

Thank You Megan for the nice words. This is my hobbie and my animals are my pets. You got yourself a real nice Paradox male.

Here's is an older Sunglow male sibling from 2013. He is currently breeding a unrelated Groovy Coral Albino.

So much pink in that sibling and looks like that female retained a lot too! My boy just went into blue and his pink under the old skin looks so dark and deep so his pink my explode again. I do love him. He fits well personality and look wise into my small group of snakes. He enjoys coiling around my wrist and just sitting there even if I move my hand/arm so he's sure to frequent pet stores with me now that weather is warming up. He really is a dream come true a paradox and a boa of manageable size. That's a double dream right there. Found a local breeder that has lots of variety I can get a female from later on and they said if I name it they probably have it. I'm thinking a jungle albino het leopard and line breed back to mom to make some hypo and sunglow leopards along with jungles. I need a bigger place first so we'll just see how things go. I wanna breed corn snakes too since that's what got me into the hobby.

Ash is definitely a stand up guy. I got my little Redgroup/Burke lipstick line female sunglow from him and now almost 2 months later and she is a lap snake. Ash answers all questions and is prompt and packs the snakes well. Worthwhile person to buy a snake from.

My boy I got from him is pretty much already a lap snake, which is perfect since he's my big change of pace animal (I'm a colubrid fan). He'll curl around my wrist and just chill there while I walk around my house or move my arm. He'll frequent pet shops with me for sure. He was as tame as Ash said, which I was thankful about since I've been lied to by breeders before, but then again there's different personal meaning of tame. I've gotten the best service and animals from small scale breeders because they remember what it's like to be simply looking for just a pet and know what it's like to have limited space and money so you need to take your time to find that 1 perfect animal for you. They're more customer oriented and care about their animals.

Very true although I will say my 6ft BCI girl I got from a local mom and pop pet shop is also a lap snake. She sat on me for about 1.5 hours last night while I was on my bed watching the late show. I actually almost fell asleep lol and she was laying on top of me with her head square in the center of my chest. I think she was asleep too as she didn't move pretty much the whole time until I got up to put her back in her enclosure, then she played hardball not wanting to go in. But anyways, yeah the smaller breeders are the way to go plus I loved the snake and talking to Ash, he did know his stuff or he played it off really good on the phone lol ;)

My boy doesn't like going in his feeder box. Getting him in his cage isn't as difficult though he takes his time going in it. He likes to be held =) My other snakes seem to enjoy handle time too because of the new stimuli it gives them but they're happy to go back into their hide most times afterwards if I've kept them out long enough. My boa like the rest of them give me that grumpy face stare when I first disturb them and they try to slither away but as reptiles do they silently put up with you. Great personalities on them all with no real attitude problems.

I appreciate all the positive feedback. Thank you

Ash is her head lavender or is that just a trick of lighting? I'd love to see some of your other pick of the litters, LOL. Seriously glad you were willing to give my boy up. I love him. His color is obviously going to do some interesting things as he grows up and now that he's feeling more settled in he's starting to be more curious and show his personality.
