    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Siren Exotics AKA SirenSanJose - SICK ANIMALS

The facebook message I sent was seen at 10am PST, so about 6 hours ago. So maybe we'll hear something in terms of an explanation now? (And no, they didn't bother responding to my facebook message. Big surprise).

I also sent an email informing them of this thread a week ago (no response), so I am not expecting much from them. Their silence is telling.

Yea it's not surprising. I just hope others see this before dealing with them, I don't think most people would be quite as patient as I've been.

Are you saying Siren knew the snake was sick when sold? I thought in the first post, you said the snake looked fine and they said so too.
I hope they get in touch with you, hope they are OK. It's not like them, from what I've seen in the past, not to respond.

No Lucille, I really think it was an honest mistake (to some extent). I don't think they knew she was sick, but they did know she was lost in their garage for a couple months before bringing her to the show. The only reason I noticed she was sick was that she tried to hiss at me and gurgled instead, so it's possible she was sick for a while. I generally don't pry snakes' mouths open unless I have good reason to, so it wasn't until the gurgling that we saw all of the mucus.

Whether they knew or not, blowing me off for two months is not acceptable. I've never dealt with them before, but after reading their reviews on facebook and seeing their fauna profile I was really surprised. I know they just shut down their physical location so maybe they're kind of saying "screw it".

My initial thought as I said before was that maybe an accident had happened and they COULDN'T get back to me, but then I saw them making posts on other people's BOI threads just over a couple weeks ago. And they saw my facebook message, so I know they're alive enough to be checking. I don't know why they aren't they responding, but I know they're responding to other threads
 
I received a response from Diana's partner today and it sounds like they are going to do a refund and cover return shipping. I don't want to post the conversations at this point but I will keep this thread updated when/if we come to a solution. Apparently she's having a rough time right now which would explain the uncharacteristic lack of communication. I will post the conversations later if I receive permission, some personal things were said which I don't think are necessary to share.

I think she will make good, because I think she is that kind of person.

I wanted to follow up and let everyone know that Siren Exotics sent me a full refund on the snake, reimbursed me for the meds that I purchased, and paid for a shipping label to have her sent back. They took care of everything very professionally and apologized multiple times for the situation.

Apparently Diana has been having some personal troubles which is why she didn't respond to me. Her partner actually handled all of this when Diana alerted him to the issue. I don't think that any of this was intentional, but I felt that I had waited a long time before posting this thread.

Regardless, the situation has been completely handled. They definitely made things right, which they certainly didn't have to after I made this post. The fact that they didn't even bother posting here, but dealt with me directly to take care of the issue, speaks more to me than anything.

While I initially was left with a very bitter taste in my mouth, I'd have no problem backing them up now and knowing that if something does go wrong that they will take care of it.
 
I'm glad to hear this worked out! I've met Diana before at a local herp club and she seemed like a very kind and enthusiastic keeper.
 
I agree April, when I spoke with her in person she seemed very genuine. That's why it was so surprising to not here back for so long. It all got taken care of though and they never stopped being professional, so I have no complaints.
 
To be honest they could have told me that it was my idea to buy the meds so that it's my problem, or refused to take the snake back, or any number of things...but all they did was apologize profusely, reimburse me for everything, and offer to do whatever else they could to make it up to me. Very good people, it's unfortunate that this thread had to be made but I didn't know what else to do at the time.
