In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Snakes at Sunset

Sorry. I should have addressed this before my last post.

My full name is: Eyvonne Allen Beaureguard Hammonds

Yes, it sucks, I know. I go by "Beau" because that is what my friends and family call me.

If you need to check me out further, I am on FB (though I rarely login, 'cause I despise it) under 'Beau Hammonds'.

It isn't hard, I got stuck with a name that is difficult to live with, but I am very upfront about it.

~Beaux
(Thus my sig-- ~(which means "approximately") Beau

That is satisfactory. I thank you. Carry on.

Ok, here's Mine & my daughters experience with Snakes at Sunset...

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=3430&pictureid=27972

Hopefully the link works to my photo album, this is the Pastave we purchased from him. There's a long story to go with this Pastave, My daughter & I purchased it from Mike. Please tell me what you see wrong with it...

~Tina Abrahamson

Looks like a spinal kink in the photo on my screen.

Do me a tiny favor and repost the photo as an attachment, as that is the expectation (rule) for sharing photographic evidence in this section of the site. I promise that it will end up saving us both trouble by doing so. Thanks in advance.

I just responded with an instructional link. Let me know if there are any further difficulties and I can try to offer additional assistance if need be. Thank you.

Here are the photos of the Pastave Snakes at Sunset sent us.

Yes, we've asked for a return label. Mike told us he'd send one. He still hasn't sent one, this has drawn out quite a bit back & forth. Mike really needs to take care of things because you can clearly see the kinks with these images directly from HIS site! :(

Wow, the moderator really is the forum Police Officer

Yes, that is correct. That's what his job (as well as the other moderators) is here. And you have a problem with that because............? :shrug01:

A little confused atm, hopefully you can clarify
yes it looks like a spinal kink, BUT you state the pix are from Michaels website
So does that mean you viewed these BEFORE purchasing, if so then you would have had to be aware there was some issue?

Without a side view or even a video you wouldn't know if that was a kink, the snake just lying funny, or the camera angle - or all three. I've produced some mildly kinked animals that went to pet homes, and from certain angles you couldn't tell there was anything wrong with them.

How long ago was the snake shipped?

Agreed it may not be a kink
However we do not really have much of a story here so far
Think it would be for the best if Tina could relate the whole chain of events so we are all on the same page?

Tina,
Based on what you just posted, I would be livid too.
Can you share with us the communication between yourself and mike up to this point so we get a better idea why you are upset?

Tina corroborated that there is, or are, kink/s.

I think what was meant, re. photos, is that, sometimes, the angle (in which the pic was taken), or a snake laying "funny", can make it look like it has a kink, or has another issue, when that/those issues do not exist (or make it look like there is not an issue when there is one). If there is no mention, of a problem, someone could, potentially, assume it is just the pic and not that a problem exists.

That said, based on the pics (and no mention of an issue), I would have asked, about it, or simply passed on inquiring for purchase. However, I am not "everyone" and everyone handles things differently.

What I was really referring to initially was back in post #26 Tina posts the photo and states " that the kink can be clearly seen", whether we all agree that it is a clear indication of a kink is a little irrelevant.
She apparently did and so did she then go ahead anyway and purchase, did she make enquiries and was told it was just the camera angle, the way the snake was lying etc, or ?

That is why I asked for a clear chain of events, communications so we could try and make some sense of this

Cheyenne Dyer (her daughter?) who is over 18 ordered the snake off our website in OCTOBER 2015. We shipped it and she said it looked like it had a kink. We did not notice any kink, even when photographing, hence why we even offered it for sale. The snake was very dificult to photograph as it was balled up all the time and shy. She sent us a set of photos which still showed no visible kink to us. She then sent a good photo showing a kink from the top while hanging the snake from its tail.
This was when she ordered in OCTOBER 2015.
Cheyenne(not TINA) said she wanted it for breeding, but since it has a kink and its " genetic" but since she likes it she would take a discount on it to keep it as a pet. We agreed, but were leaving shop at that moment and just finishing up emails, and asked her to remind us in morning to send her a discount if she didn't hear from us. We had set it in our mind anyways to just refund the snake as it found a pet home except for shipping. Now come LAST WEEK , her mom(Tina) starts sending us threats about BBB, about returning snake and making it worth her while, how they cant breed it anymore and wanted to breed it, etc, etc. or she would post everywhere our business and how we purposefully send a kinked snake, and trying to rip people off by offering same snake on site (its a stock photo which is clearly stated on website), etc.
We explained to her, her DAUGHTER who is an adult has to contact us directly, as emails were from different people, and daughter being adult we deal with the customer not a third party, and Cheyenne Did message us a couple days ago.
We said we would gladly take the snake back when its safe to ship, and if she had REPTILE heat packs to ship it back, she did not and said she had to purchase one.
Still waiting to hear about if she has a heat pack to safely ship back, as she did say she had the box we shipped to her in.
Shipping from SOUTH DAKOTA right now is not very feasible, and fedex return labels have expiration dates. Once she has a heat pack that is suitable for live animal shipping we will gladly have it shipped back by sending her a new return label that is valid. Also when weather is actually safe for an inexperienced person to ship a snake. We actually still hold our offer of refund minus shipping, and keep the snake if CHEYENNE WANTS. We will not be replacing it, just refunding minus shipping at this point.
She implied we did this on purpose, which is not true, and that we are avoiding her, which is not true. We had contact with the true customer at the beggining, and being as busy as we are, it slipped through the cracks as we are not 100% perfect. We would have fixed the issue that week she got it, and intended to but as UNINTENTIONAL accidents happen, we let it slip, and customer as well did not contact us again for 3 months.
So all in all,
We will gladly take the snake back if it can be shipped in a safe manner.
We will refund the snake, and not replace it.
We will communicate and help only the customer, not Tina.
We will do our best to make sure it doesn't happen again as we have a reputation for quality, and only plan on expanding that.

Start from bottom - as you can see we offered her what she wanted, and just simply did not finish it up as it slipped through the cracks. Its not an excuse but it is what happened. She wanted a discount, after it ate. We still wanted it back if any issue whatsoever, we want customer to be 100% happy with their order. Sadly on our part we let it slip, and apologize for that. Third party requests are not taken into account, only customer can tell us what they want done. Now she wants to send back again, which is fine, but at this point we will only offer a refund on the snake if she sends back or not.

50% shouldn't breed genetically kinked snakes, we don't know if it would pass on so we can't take risk breeding him, so he's only going to be a pet.

Subject: Re: Your Snakes at Sunset Order Has Been Updated (#6345)

My snake has a kink in his spine, why was I sent a snake with a kinked up spine? I was expecting a healthy snake without that.

Mike, are you saying that the snake pictures are not of the snake, that Cheyenne received, but, instead, is a stock photo?
If so, it would be a good idea to have photos of the snake that Cheyenne received (by seller or customer).
I agree that correspondence should be between seller, & buyer, and not via a third party.

If the snake has kink/s, it should never have been sent in the first place. However, mistakes can happen and it always depends on what the seller is willing to do to make things right.

Seems seller is willing to make things right if/when it is safe to do so... or anytime if snake is kept by the buyer.

....

If the snake does, indeed, have kink/s, I believe the buyer should be reimbursed the price of the snake, and shipping, if the snake is sent back. The customer should not have to be out any money due to a mistake made by the seller.
