The linked thread is recent and relevant. In Guy's defense, he was reporting a transaction from years ago, and may not have known anything about Moreno's shenanigans.
But I think readers would absolutely like to see the recent thread prior to any transactions. I sure wouldn't do business with Rene Moreno now. Here's a quote from the linked thread:

Please utilize the SEARCH function as much as possible before starting a new thread (topic line). In many instances, it is much better to continue an existing thread rather than starting a new one in order to preserve continuity in the information about a person or business. Most readers are much more inclined to read a single long thread, rather than dozens of smaller ones scattered all over the BOI. So don't let your message get lost in the clutter by ignoring this simple rule.

And as a further FYI about this Rene Moreno guy, he got many infractions for continual disruptions in the classifieds sections on this site. But what got him perma-banned was this private message (slightly edited for profanity) that he sent to one of my moderators in response to those infractions:
