I actually agree. Even if we're to assume that some of that video was out of context - e.g., PETA possibly choosing to focus on newly-arrived animals that were severely injured and essentially doomed well before RBM ever had possession of them - there's still some disturbing stuff in that video that just doesn't seem so easily explained away by simple context. Unless there was a whole lot of scene-staging and outright fabrications by PETA - which seems like it may be a good time for a defamation lawsuit from someone who has both the means, and the confidence in their ability to defend their practices in a courtroom - it's looking pretty bad for RBM.I think this deserves to be more visible.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Quite honestly, I am not convinced that this is any sort of unbiased view at all. I've been to some wholesalers myself, and some were extraordinarily well maintained, and others I wanted to take a half dozen showers after leaving there and burn the clothes I had been wearing. The worst seemed to be importers, in my opinion. The best were ones that bred their own animals for the majority of the stock they offered for sale. But none were, nor ever could be, pristine and spotless by any stretch of the imagination. Animals just do not give you that sort of luxury.
I am sorry, but I am just not buying into anything that PETA tries to convince me of. Not when their obvious agenda means the complete destruction of the entire animal industry. If anyone else wants to buy into that agenda, then have at it. Watch that video and pay attention to the end of it concerning what PETA is promoting.
PETA has the agenda to stop all human ownership and use of animals. They have a huge and extreme bias. They are not friends of the reptile community.

When they get your support to divide and conquer the wholesale aspect of the pet trade do you seriously think that will be the end of their focus? YOU, even with your handful of animals, will be next.
As always, Rich, well said. You may be aware of recent news reports about allegations by PETA against our animal care facilities and practices. I want to assure you that we take very seriously our reputation as a respected and credentialed reptile supplier.
We have found numerous discrepancies in the photos and video and report that much of what you see here is misrepresented or taken out of context.
The PETA allegations reflect care that is absolutely not up to our standards; this type of animal treatment is not how we train our employees and will not be tolerated in any of our facilities.
Our customers look to us for healthy animals that are bred and raised in a safe environment that includes appropriate medical treatment for all of our animals. We train employees to carefully prepare and ship our animals, providing an environment that is appropriate for each breed’s unique lifestyle needs. And, an experienced veterinarian, who specializes in reptile care, visits all of our facilities at least once a week and provides oversight guidance to us.
We expect all employees to follow humane and timely methods to care for our animals. And we discipline or terminate employees who do not fulfill their obligations of care to our animals.
We take seriously these allegations and are conducting a thorough investigation; I personally assure you that any and all policy infractions will be addressed immediately.
Thank you for your trust in Reptiles by Mack. We work every day to earn that trust.
