In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Derek mayhew (Inked Dragons)

According to the update Dereks wife posted on Facebook paypal closed the case and gave the scammers their money. I guess it doesn't matter to paypal that they sent the wrong item and it's cruel to the critter to ship it again so soon.

Truthfully, I can only thank the OP for having the decency to keep the animal and bring this incident to the attention of the community. I really hate that you went through all of this.
These people are riding high on the FB community's lack of memory, but as time passes this behavior will snowball and we will hear from them again. People who take their animals seriously remember threads like this, and these two dim-wits won't be able to shake their history.

:iagree: I have all the respect in the world for eleesha for not sending it back. It's just really crappy that PayPal didn't truly understand the situation and sided with the scammers. I'll be sure to warn the 1000's of reptile people I'm "friends" with on social media to avoid inked dragons like the plague and hopefully they will help spread the word.

In response to: has anyone done business with Inked Dragons

I have purchased a dragon from Derek. He posted a nice dragon I wanted and it was properly packed. The dragon is lovely and arrived in great condition. Most people know I am overly picky with handling and care having been in dragons this long. I would get another dragon from Derek as my previous experience was favorable.

Well I won't ship him so soon, and I hear fed ex system crashed right as we all got a good shipping window so I can't risk that either. I JUST got him good and settled and he is a decent dragon, but not the animal advertised at all and just simply not what I was looking for. I got him finally eating good and he now has a little pot belly going as well as finally letting me hold him to examine him better. This pic is the little dragon now with his total color but he does seem to stress easily even when just pulling him out for a few minutes, he merely tolerates it. He is a yellow base with light orange highlights on his ridges (not even a lot of orange really)...keep in mind they had a red/coral male baby hypo trans advertised and there are obvious and distinct differences

First I want to make it clear through readin this thread I've agreed with you the buyer and sorry you had to be dragged through such a mess.
But I do have a question about the photo you posted above. Did that dragon grow horns overnight? This has nothing to do with your deal only the last photo. It's head looks stretched due to editing. Maybe it's the angle maybe I'm getting old but something not right with that pic. Again what I'm addressing is only that photo and completely have been on your side with this situation. My question is more out of curiosity.

No it is not edited at all, it's just the light and shadows. I do not edit ANYTHING including my photos, I'm not inked I have no reason to do such with ANY animal of mine. The only editing I have EVER done has been removing red eye....the photo was merely to show the end result of the animal sent to me, and how, though he is an ok, could even be a good looking dragon, it is obviously not the one I was supposed to receive. It is pet quality only, and nowhere near the breeder quality needed which I talked to them about prior to them sending the dragon, I even showed them the female I was looking to pair a red male to.

Hi Eleesha,
I'm sorry if my post led you to think I didn't believe you. I have been following the thread and never once did I think you were in the wrong just the opposite. I could tell within seconds of seeing the first photos that it wasn't the same dragon and that you got screwed over. So sorry if my post made you feel differently. I'm a bit embarrassed now because I was looking at the photo on my phone I didn't realize the dragons head was looking up. Lol. So what I thought I saw was a dragon that grew horns overnight. Lol Again sorry you have been put through such a mess!

I think I need to cave and get glasses. Now that I can actually see the photo I'm amazed at what I thought I saw. Even though it was on my phone and in the sun I saw something completely different than what it is. Damn I was hoping I wouldn't have to get glasses but after that mistake it's probably a good idea. lol

No she stated many times she didn't want a refund and to keep the dragon, you may wanot to go back and read all the posts. She never once asked for that. She did ask for them to send the correct dragon and keep the money, they expected her to pay for return shipping when the mistake was theirs not the buyers. Should the customer have to pay to ship something back when a company sends them the wrong item?

No I didn't figure you assumed anything I know some people just don't get the best look and I know angles shadows can totally affect everything. As to the other person. No I never wanted both my money back and to keep the dragon, I barely wanted to ship the animal again but I told them I was more than willing to drop the entire thing if they merely corrected their mistake, they objected to it all, and I've had to deal with their rude and disrespectful behavior towards customers who come to them with a problem and wouldn't just take their excuses and blaming the customer.

The Op wanted to the money back and also keep the dragon?
Are you able to back that accusation up with proof? To my knowledge your the first person to suggest this. This is the first time in this thread I'm aware of that the OP was accused of wanting a refund as well as keeping the dragon.

Actually the only people who ever tried to accuse me of that has been both Derek and his wife of inked dragons, who no matter how many times I tried to state it, they would always come back to that or say I was looking for a free dragon for some reason.

It was not an accusation, but the only reason to contact paypal is to get a refund, that is the only thing they can do.
Is there any other reason to contact paypal?

I didn't want to return after because it would be on me to pay for everything. I would have preferred if they just sent me the animal I was supposed to receive or at least one that was genetically equal to what I was SUPPOSED to receive, but knowing they color inhance their pictures, I can't even trust they have an animal of that same genetic and color I was supposed to receive. PayPal was also to prove a point. I do have other options if I REALLY wanted to. I could request my bank and request a reverse charge to get ALL of my money back and tell them if they want him back then they need to send me a return shipping label, but I haven't. I wasn't going to risk killing the baby dragon due to all its gone through at all

Ok,you didn't want money back, you didn't want to ship, and getting the animal they advertise wasn't going to happen, what else you wanted?

They refused to pay the return shipping, what was she supposed to do? Also the dragon was stressed and not eating yet, so if she shipped it back what if it didn't make it? PayPal stated she would get her money back when inked got the dragon back and confirmed it was in good health. What guarantee did she have that they wouldn't lie and tell PayPal it died? They have already been proven to be liars, I wouldn't have trusted them either after they way they treated her and lied. I don't blame her for choosing the dragons health over sending it back for a refund. Either way they refused to pay for the refund shipping, so it's obvious she was going to be stuck with the wrong dragon. Just because she posted her experience doesn't scream to me that she wanted anything except to make it known that inked dragons sent her the wrong dragon then treated her with nothing but rudeness and disrespect and to warn others to avoid doing business with them.

If paypal would have send the money back, would she have kept the dragon?
Who we know the dragon she show us is the one she received and not one she had?
