In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm not understanding some of this. When did it become common to expect to be reimbursed for shipping, or expected to pay the shipping charge back?
When what you shipped is not what the customer ordered. It would be different if the customer was a flake who changed his mind after being sent the correct animals.

Can you retake the photo of the cleaner snake, to match the view of the second one? It is easy to see the wider tail after the vent on that one.

Here are the vent pictures with heads in the image to show its the same animal. You can see how wide the tail base is just caudal to the vent and how it continues for an extended length as is commonly seen in males. Females have a narrower tail and quicker taper.

I do agree that you should receive what you paid for, and I'm not trying to be rude, just curious. If you are so well versed in this that you know the tail should be narrower for a female, why did it take you 9 months to notice this? Even if you didn't probe right away.

The point that is missing here is that we offered a refund of $100 and the buyer keeps the animals. I believe the pair was 1.1 and I am not interested in acquiring and attempting to sell an animal that could have potential injurys from being probed incorrectly. The buyer can sell one of the snakes or do whatever he pleases.

On another note...we have 6 people who work at the store or online. All are educated and capable in answering questions but when it comes to a situation like this, I must be contacted and be the one who makes these decisions. This was done on a holiday weekend when my 1st priority is my family and my children. The buyer was impatient and immediately threatened boi posts. I will say this...I will not be threatened and have absolutely no fear of the boi.

The buyer has been refunded his $100 now and as far as we are concerned...case closed.

I am glad you refunded the buyer, but (personally) I think your attitude sucks. I don't recall anyone saying you should be "scared" of the BOI, but I do know that any time anyone googles your business name this thread will pop up and they will be able to make up their own minds about wether they want to do business with you based solely on how you handled this situation...

The $100 refund is better than nothing but I will be unlikely to get my money back in full and the attitude left much to be desired. It puts my project back a year at least but had his employees communicated more effectively in the beginning this BOI may have been avoided. His total denial of any wrong doing in sexing is comical at this point. I have videos of both of them probed and images of both animals before and after. Calling our technical skills into question is really a low blow and speaks to the quality of the ownership and leadership at that company. The animals are perfectly healthy, with no wounds, no infection, no swelling etc.

I believe that they believe that they sent 1.1. As previously stated, sometimes males can appear female using traditional sexing methods. I would strongly recommend that others avoid doing business with them in the future if you expect accurately sexed animals. When it is all said and done the animals were in fact healthy at arrival and remained so. If you are looking for a pet and not breeding stock they maybe a company for you, but their lack of appropriate action and general attitude towards their own mistakes should be a warning to all other who wish to do business with this company.

Good on you for refunding the buyer $100.00 but your attitude as a business owner and operator SUCK! You have a "Holier than Thou" attitude and think that it's all the buyers fault. You sent the wrong sex, and you should have eaten it. Going above and beyond in customer service is what makes customers keep coming back. But thanks to your crappy attitude in this thread you can bet that you'll lose more than you would have gained. Bad word travels faster than any good. So good job for doing what you should have done in the first place.

So, I need to follow the advice I actually gave my son and just let this go but I still can't stomach the fact that this guy still asserts that we either swapped snakes or don't know how to probe. I believe that the earlier before and after pictures show without a reasonable doubt that the snakes in my possession are the same ones that he sold me. So that's done. I pm'd everyone of the people on this thread, including reptxotica a link to me probing both of these snakes last night. I believe that this shows without a shadow of a doubt that these are both males and that I know what I'm doing. I appreciate the $100 dollars but it is highly unlikely that I will be able to buy a lone female for that plus whatever I sell one of the males for plus shipping. Even then I'm a year behind on a mistake he refuses to admit he made. As I said before I don't care about the money really, its that the folks at reptxotica refuse to admit they made a mistake. Sure I'll take the hit that I should have verified earlier but I trusted them and didn't see a noticeable difference until last week. Note that they did not verify the gender of the animals before they sold them to me (except by popping which is a whole different story on deeper probing snakes like coxi) They too trusted their supplier. So I guess their only real position now is that we found a male clone of the "female" snake they sold us for the sole purpose of screwing them out of $200. Thanks for putting up with my rant and thank all of you for your support. I'll try to be done now.

Here was my scary threat.

His threats were in our Facebook messages

Unless you provide your screenshots of your messages, he has provided his to you proving what he said...

The buyer was impatient and immediately threatened boi posts. I will say this...I will not be threatened and have absolutely no fear of the boi.

Hmm...You need to learn the difference between a threat and a "promise" otherwise known as intention. He told you he intended to post this on the BOI, and he did. A threat would have been more along the lines of "making you pay" for your mistake (which you still haven't admitted that you've made.) So he didn't threaten a BOI post because he went through with it. He INTENDED/PROMISED to write up his experience and he did.

I was later accused of trying to make them pay and ruin their livelihood, but I continued to insist I actually wanted nothing of the sort. I may get around to posting that, but it's not anything of consequence.
