    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Repxotica Rare Reptiles

I was later accused of trying to make them pay and ruin their livelihood, but I continued to insist I actually wanted nothing of the sort. I may get around to posting that, but it's not anything of consequence.

If those words were never typed by you, then it's still not a threat, and is all in the business owner's head. I'd post them anyway if I were you, seeing as how they haven't ponied up almost any information. But something tells me that if you're a veterinarian; you're not going to risk your license and livelihood by making "threats." Especially when they're written and easily saved for viewing.

I can say, based solely on the actions and attitude of the owner/operator of Repxotica, if they happened to have an animal I desired, I would give them a pass.

I don't believe, had the OP probed immediately upon the snakes arrival, the outcome would have been any different. The seller would still insist that the buyer is lying/scamming/probing wrong.

It's not that they made a mistake, it's how that mistake was handled. IMO, it has been handled poorly and unprofessionally; attacking the buyer is not a good business practice.

I agree 100%! It is not the mistake that makes a person bad, it is how the mistake is/was handled.

I think a few hundred dollars is a relatively small amount of money for a business to risk lots of future sales on when the matter appears to likely be an error made by the business.

I understand the seller's hesitation for reasons I've mentioned before, BUT the seller needs to be willing to accept evidence that they could be/are wrong. It's one thing to be cautious and want to figure things out first, but once things do become more clear you need to be willing to admit if you were wrong.

I think the seller is being short sighted. Insisting on "winning" this one dispute could cost a lot of business down the road. This isn't a case of an unreasonable, inexperienced buyer. A couple hundred bucks is not worth a bad reputation.

One last thing, my goodness these are pretty snakes!

Though it is obviously only conjecture, I have to agree with this statement. From the start (imo), the seller has attempted to shift blame, and I cannot help but feel that, no matter the amount of proof the buyer were to provide, the seller would remain intransigent....THOUGH, I would be more than happy to be proven wrong, should the seller rethink their position....
