In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Beware of Anemotor (Zared Hall)

So I used the link Dan provided (great detective work, btw) and sent him a question, asking how long he had the snake, and how it was feed for him. Here is his reply:

"I've had her since she was a little red baby, and she feeds extremely well. she eats live rats, quite viciously actually"

If regurging classifies as eating extremely well I'd hate to see what an ETB with issues looks like.

You should have asked him what temps/humidity he keeps her at and then asked if she'd ever had any problems with throwing up her meals. He probably wou have lied to you and said no.

I just now asked if she has ever gone off her feed or regurged, awaiting his reply.

He said she regurged once two months ago and has eaten twice since then.

So she's only eaten twice in 2 months? And he deems that eating extremely well? For someone who claims to know so much about the husbandry of emails he comes across as an amateur, at best.

animals, not emails. I need to stop posting using my phone!

It looks like he is saying she has only eaten twice since the incident, but is also saying that she eats every two weeks

He lies so much he can't even keep up with it all. Literally within 3 minutes he said she had eaten only 2 times over the last 2 months but that she eats every 2 weeks.

Do you consider an ETB eating twice in two months a bad thing? I don't know YOUR experience level with them, and I'm certainly no expert; but it doesn't seem unreasonable to me, especially under the circumstances. After the regurgitation, I wouldn't even have offered a meal for a month.

Zared also mentions how much he loves animals yet he posts this on his Facebook account...

I certainly would say it's the definition of "eating extremely well" by any means. One meal a month is not the recommended feeding interval.

My main point was how quickly he resorts to lies. Eats extremely well. Oh wait, I mean it threw up and has only eaten twice in the last 2 months. Oh I'm sorry, it eats every 2 weeks.

I'm not familiar with this species. How often should they be eating? And how long should they be fasted after a regurgitation?

I feed mine every 10 to 14 days. Again, it all depends on the individual animal and also whether you're feeding them larger or smaller prey items. I prefer to feed smaller prey items (XL mice as opposed to small rats) because they seem to do a better job digesting them. That's just my experience and philosophy. I don't think anyone would recommend a routine feeding interval of a month. That is just too long, in my opinion.

The more serious issue is the regurgitation. ETBs are notorious for this. I don't have much experience with it, luckily, but others will tell you that it's almost impossible to pinpoint why it happens and thus eliminate it. Certainly you shouldn't be shipping out an ETB that threw up 5 days prior. That is poor husbandry at its worst. He's lucky the animal didn't die in transit.

"I've had her since she was a little red baby, and she feeds extremely well. she eats live rats, quite viciously actually"

In the emails Brian shared Zared said "but he lived with my female and ate when she ate, I watched them both strike and kill and eat hamsters"

Also worth repeating was his comment about the 'marks' since the female apparently had them as well (indicating she was possibly WC or injured by a feeder?) "he's had bigger marks like that when I got him. He was actually shedding in the shipment when I got him, my female had something like that but it was huge on her neck, whatever it is I cleared it"

He leaves out the info about the regurg, possible scar history and that he feeds them various things, not just rats (can be an issue for some if they get picky). Wonder what else he's leaving out.

His facebook is loaded with "interesting" animal pictures, all accessible to the public

His facebook info is /zared.hall.90. So I am assuming he is born in 1990, so 26 or 25 years old? I honestly thought he was a kid with his comment that got him banned:shrug01:. Not a young adult.

I had written a reply to this thread when it was first posted but didn't send it for whatever reason. I'm going to post my reply here which others have already brought up the same issues I had but figured it wouldn't hurt to say them again.

One thing I would like to mention before that is hold off as long as you can to offer any food to the Emerald. And a vet visit is a great idea. If it eats and vomits a second time you're just further down the rabbit hole. Anyway I think you already know that. So here's my reply that I didn't post the other day.

Oh boy, what a mess! First off, Brian I'm sorry you're going through this and thanks for bringing to the BOI. You were definitely lied to as your communication clearly shows.
I think you already know this about wc Emeralds and the infamous regurge syndrome is 99% of the time is a death sentence.

Due to the sellers bending of the truth to put it lightly I highly question the origin the female he's selling. I find it hard to imagine that he wouldn't put in the title of that thread or at least the post that she is from Signal Herp. It wasn't until after you guys were going back and forth that he slipped that in there. Easy enough to prove Rico always supplied pedigree info with his sales. He also sold baby Emeralds starting at $650 and up, $700 for a 5 year old female is more than dirt cheap. You can be sure they all were eating f/t before they were sold by Rico. Why anyone in there right mind would think it's better to feed live hamsters is beyond me and shows just how much they don't know. Unless of course that's all they would eat hence not being from CBB stock.

Rico was a friend, bless his heart, and may he rest in peace. It angers me that someone would use Rico's good name to validate their lie because he's no longer with us. If he can provide proof that he purchased that female from Rico, then great. Rico might not be with us anymore but being the fantastic breeder and person he was, records are still here for all his animals. Sorry, the mention of Rico got my blood boiling from the classified ad. I'll leave that alone for now until the seller can post some proof of its origin.

Another issue is all the black markings or scars visible on your male. The seller countered with his female had the same marks but didn't know what they were but somehow he cured her of it with no mentioning of what he did to remedy the issue.

Even if and that is a big if she came from Signal Herp and never had any issues she sure has one now. He put your male from what sounds like a recent import in with her to breed and they both regurge.
Now he wants to sell an animal he supposedly raised for 5 years a month or so after he tried to breed her with a wc import then regurged.
People have lost collections bringing in WC emeralds that would regurge. Ask anyone that has worked with emeralds just how serious this is.
For the record an Emerald isn't going to regurge because it was shipped a few weeks prior. If the Emerald was still stressed from shipping it just wouldn't eat.
Sorry I know I'm all over the place with this post and it doesn't help I'm on my phone writing this also.

Brian I hope you don't have any emeralds in your collection already and if you do I hope they are far away from this male!
And yes a vet visit would be a good thing but I don't think it's going to be of much help. It definitely can't hurt but by the sound if it this poor emerald is already in its downward spiral. Don't take my word as gospel maybe I'm wrong I would love to be. I'm just a bit jaded after seeing this issue with imported emeralds for so many years it's hard not to expect the worst.

Again sorry you clearly were lied to and that sucks!

Not sure what will come of it but I just filed a claim with PayPal. Whenever I buy from someone I try to use PayPal and I also request that they send me an invoice rather than me just sending them money...and I never send it using friends/family. I'd rather pay the 3% and at least have coverage if something like this were to happen.

I'm not hurting for the money, this is more a principle thing for me. Not only did Zared repeatedly lie to me but he not once acknowledged the lies or tried to at least explain himself. His character is shot, and I find it hard to believe that anyone that reads this thread would ever knowingly do business with him in the future.

I'll keep everyone updated on the outcome of the vet visit as well as the PayPal claim. Thanks for the support.

Awww, how cute! Someone is so angry they're making fakey accounts to come show us what-for, because they totally didn't already tell us they don't care what we think.
