In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Gastro3003 aka Dr. Robert Brunner -- Scam Artist, Forger, Beware!

I rarely post, but frequently lurk.
This thread is fascinating.
The questions I would love to see answered are:

~ Is the tort alive? (an easy yes or no, without anyone having to give away potentially incriminating info about genetics or permits). I think the tort is alive, and would love to see a photo with a date to prove it, no matter who has him.

~ Is the paperwork from Parrots of the World fake? (I am fairly involved in the parrot world, and to my knowledge PoW is a bird seller only, not a vet) My curiosity regarding the paperwork also includes the question of why anyone would pay $75 to dispose of the body? Perhaps things are different in NY, but here shelters charge $5 to dispose of bodies of deceased pets, or he could be buried for free.

The answers to those questions would satisfy most of my curiosity.

Has any one considered that the bills are real and that another tortoise in his possession got sick and died?

A pack of cigarettes in N.Y. is almost triple what it cost in southeast Pa. Just sayin'.

Ici -- Can I take your silence to my inquiries in post #395 & #401 as admission of guilt and you did indeed sell the tortoise to Dr. Brunner for 5k but never supplied proof of lineage ... looks like scammer to scammer .. makes sense you didn't provide him with information .. otherwise there would have been no reason fro Tuan to contact you or Bill .. he would have just gotten proof from Dr. Brunner :)
Regardless ... I look forward to hearing back from Evvonne on the authenticity of the Parrots of the World documentation ... will be great to actually have some facts and proof here.

Has anyone an idea on this tortoise's approximate weight?

I cannot locate the original ad right at the moment, but I believe the tortoise was advertised as being 15" in length. A male Radiated Tortoise of that size could weigh as much as 25-28 lbs. in good health. I have a 16" male that weighs 30 lbs. and a 16.5" male that weighs 32 lbs. as a comparison.

In the Iguanas classifieds, there is a post by the Doc for a pair of Ctenosaura Defensor and a Ctenosaura Clarki being grouped for a sale. The pictures in the Doc's ad of the Defensor are straight from another ad for Defensor by a user "argus". I suppose it's possible the Doc bought the Defensor off of argus, and is now selling them, but it's odd that the post for sale by argus was just made at the end of July. That would mean the Doc is selling them pretty quickly after receiving them, if they were actually purchased from argus. Or he could just be using other people's pictures for his ads and may not even own any Ctenosaura, which wouldn't be too crazy to believe after his actions in this thread. Attached pictures of the ads of both Doc and argus. Note the dates.

Ross, could these critters be from the sale that Hani Morsi made to Brunner on August 2?

I was just posting that because, to me, it seems odd that he would be taking such a loss on a group of animals he literally just purchased within a couple weeks ago. Seems like he was getting rid of them with the quickness, for some reason.

I don't know what the original sale price from Hani was, I am certainly not going to take Brunner's word that he sold at a loss. I'm not saying it didn't happen, I'm just saying that for me, it would take more than Brunner's say so for me to believe something.

I have been a member of the fauna community for over a decade and a member of the reptile community for over 30yrs.
If you check my BOI it's all positive dating back a decade.

The doctor purchased 3 iguanas from me for 2k cash and paid me in full at the moment of the transaction.

He chose to sell them a week later to another fauna member who has also been a reptile community member for over 30 years and whom I know personally for 20 years.

There was nothing wrong with the animals in question and the new purchaser is very happy with his purchase.

Why he would sell them at a loss a short time later is totally is his prerogative. He says he wants to go in a different direction with his collection. None of this effect me or my transaction. The animals were well taken care of the short time they were in his possession and are in great hands now.

I would really appreciate if I were not dragged into this thread. Thanks in advance.

He says a lot of things, many of them are not true. So far the only reason your name has been mentioned is peripheral, you were part of a transaction that a member here questioned.
It is possible that Brunner wanted to go in another direction, it is also possible that there may have been some immediate financial need on his part or other reason. Simply because he says something does not make it so.

I contacted POTW yesterday about wanting to dispose of my deceased 25lb Boa. It's been well over 24 hours and they haven't replied.:time_waiting_01:

LOL you add fuel to the fire and say you don't want anything to do with this? Selling animals he just bough fir less than he bought them for is more proof there is an addiction of some sort at hand.
