In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Did you know these herps exist? PHOTOS - UPDATED! 10/20/16

Very cool critters!
At times, I enjoy searching for "not well known" animals. For this reason, I knew of some of these. Though not some others.
This is a great thread.:)

....

The earless monitor is probably my favorite reptile! They are the only lizards related to the varanids (monitors) and the helodermatids (beaded lizards). I'd love to own one but they are EXTREMELY rare and are under threat to become extinct :(

A couple more:
17. Conception Bank silver boa (Chilabothrus argentum) discovered in 2016 in the Bahamas
18. Tuatara - not actually a lizard, but rather part of the Order:Rhynchocephalia
19. Brown Leaf Chameleon (Brookesia Superciliaris)
20. Blanford's rock agama (Psammophilus blanfordanus)

21. Burton’s legless lizard (Lialis burtonis) - Australian, almost exclusive lizard eater and wide variety of colors.
22. Green Thornytail Iguana (Uracentron azureum) - I want one of these!
23. Eastern sandfish (Scincus mitranus)
24. Galapagos land iguana (Conolophus subcristatus) - I was aware of the marine iguana, but not the land version.

26. Chamaeleo (Trioceros) quadricornis
27. Large shieldtail snake (Pseudotyphlops philippinus)
28. Minor’s chameleon (Furcifer minor) - I've seen tons of gorgeous chameleons before, but never this pattern arrangement. This is female instead of a male too.

Wonderful list, Robert! I am familiar with quite a few, but love learning about the others I know nothing about. The female Minor's pictured, by the way, is gravid. Female Minor's are more colorful than the males, but only look that astonishing when gravid.

That makes them even cooler!!!

Thanks Laura!
I guess if they only look that awesome when they are gravid, you don't have to wonder if she is or not.

I'll be adding some more pictures shortly
