• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Wanted Female Eastern Box Turtle

They are legal

This is a false statement! You need the wildlife propagation license from Ohio Division of Natural Resources. You are aloud four wc animals and as many legally obtained animals from out of state as you want. Must keep a log of all animals. I have this license for foxes, eastern boxes, spotted, North American wood, and blandings turtles.

Nobody made a statement. It was a question.

in ohio you cannot catch eastern box turtles , spotted turtles , NA woods , or blanding's ....... it is illegal to take any of those species from the wild in ohio , even with a propagation permit .......

(1) "Collectable reptiles" includes Carphophis amoenus amoenus (Eastern wormsnake), Carphophis amoenus helenae (Midwestern wormsnake), Chrysemys picta marginata (midland painted turtle), Coluber constrictor constrictor (Northern black racer), Coluber constrictor foxii (blue racer), Diapophis punctatus edwardsii (Northern ring-necked snake), Graptemys geographica (Northern map turtle), Heterodon platirhinos (Eastern hog-nosed snake), Lampropeltis triangulum triangulum (Eastern milk snake), Nerodia sipedon sipedon (common watersnake), Pantherophis alleghaniensis (Eastern ratsnake), Plestiodon fasciatus (common five-lined skink), Plestiodon laticeps (broad-headed skink), Podarcis muralis (common wall lizard), Sceloporus undulatus (Eastern fence lizard), Sternotherus odoratus (Eastern musk turtle), Storeria dekayi dekayi (Northern brownsnake), Storeria dekayi wrightorum (midland brownsnake), Storeria occipitomaculata occipitomaculata (Northern red-bellied snake), Thamnophis butleri (Butler's gartersnake), Thamnophis sauritus sauritis (common ribbonsnake), Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis (Eastern gartersnake), Trachemys scripta elegans (red-eared slider).

But he would not be collecting those species in Ohio...

I just didn't want anyone to think you could legally collect 4 eastern box turtles , spotted turtles or blanding's from the wild in ohio ....... those species need all the help they can get in ohio ........ he would just need a propagation permit , which are easy to get , he can buy the turtle from a legal source , and he has 10 days from receipt of the turtle to apply for the permit ..........

Thank you for clarifying Marke1
Not being argumenative at all simply trying to ensure I was understanding wording correctly. By my interpretation he can own specimens from out of state but not collect In Ohio. I dont know the situation in Ohio but lived in FL and now SC and do sympathize
