• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Server move 08/26/2017! Followup on problems.

I've been getting the error page for a day now also. I went to the Facebook page and found I can access the site from there.

Sorry, been fighting with email gremlins ALL DAY LONG today.

But try this. See if it makes a difference if "www." is at the beginning of the URL or not. Try it both ways to see if one with or one without that prefix works.

I have had that sort of problem before after a server move.

BTW, anyone seeing that notice about the site being gone is still seeing my old server. So there is a problem with your ISP updating the DNS info on their servers.

Looks like the main url is having problems with Google Chrome, I tried with Safari and it did load in properly for me. It's unfortunate though since Chrome is my main browser. I have tried many times over the past 24 hours on Chrome but it will only work if I go through the forums url.

Well, I am using Google Chrome and not having any problems getting to either the home page or the forum page. :shrug01:

Some members emailed me about a "security token missing" message they were getting so I passed that on to my server guys. They said they fixed it, so keep an eye out in case it still persists.

As for editing posts, this particular forum (Site Assistance & Feedback Forum) is one of the forums where editing and deleting by members is restricted. I really don't remember why I did that, but quite likely from some sort of abuse in the past that forced my hand.

Anyway, I think the email problems are all squared away now. At least I hope so. I SERIOUSLY thought my head was going to explode today.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I asked the server guys to make the URL "www.faunaclassifieds.com" and "faunaclassifieds.com" functionally equivalent. I go through this with every server move I have ever done.

Hopefully the problems have at least been reduced a bit.

For what it is worth, once things came back online, I haven't had a single issue... all good over here.
Thanks Rich!

Over there, that's it! It's an east coast problem. Or not.

It's all good Rich, this site with a couple kinks to work out, is still better than...

Hey Rich, North East (NYS) is all good! It's those laidback southerners just taking their time to get on board. (Lol... half my family lives in Virginia)

I've noticed that, too. I'm a roadtrip junky, and it seems to me that coastal southern state demographics are in flux. I meet more relocated people from NYS every time I travel there.

:>off_to<: sorry

Well heck, native Floridians (which just means a person who was born here, regardless of where their parents came from and when they got here) have to sport bumper stickers on their vehicles in order to identify themselves.

Miami Beach is now sort of a mixture of New York City South, and Havana, Cuba north. I can't understand a word anyone is saying there. :D

Anyway, back to seriousness, I just got an email from a member who says he is still getting "security token" errors while trying to upload files as attachments.

Anyone else getting them too?

He sent me screenshots of the error messages so I forwarded them to the server tech staff and my programmer.

If anyone notes any other problems, please note them here. Screen shots will be helpful if error messages are involved.

Yeah, this stuff is just a whole lot of fun.

Appears to have been a corrupted database that needed to be repaired. However in order to do so, the folder on the server needed to hold the temporary files wasn't big enough to do the job. So one thing led to another, and here we are. :rollercoaster:

I can only get on now because I clicked on the email link. iPhone, PC, favorites tab and going to the Classified from this thread... all showing Database Error, as of approximately noon today.

Darn
