• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Membership referral contest

Hello!

When I created an account the other day, I didn't know my referrer's "handle" was just his name (sorry if my terminology isn't right).

Is there a way to get him credit for this contest?

It's Vic Herrick, if that helps.

Thanks!

Well, that is actually a real good question. I took a look in the admin panel, and then in the User CP menus to see if there was anyway either a member, or myself could add or edit a referral entry. So far, I haven't found any way to do that. So I sent off a message to my programmer to see what he may know about it. Not that any custom programming would be in the works to put this in if it doesn't exist, however. As I mentioned earlier, this referral system is VERY rudimentary in it's implementation here by the vBulletin programmers. So it won't surprise me in the least if this capability was not included.

But thanks for asking. I'll let you know what I find out.

My programmer got back to me and told me that there is no way for a member to add the referral info after registration. But I can do that in the admin section where I can edit the member's info. With that in mind, I added the referral you requested.

And in case anyone is interested, right now there are three members with 2 referrals each at the top of the list.

Seems to me it would be very easy for someone to snatch this win from the jaws of apathy.

OK. We have a winner. Barely....

Serpent Mo squeaked over the finish line and won by a hair.

Congrats!
