    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I purchsed a pacman frog from thomas hand. It has been three weeks. His communication is bad. Im in the process of going thru paypal for a refund. But the problem is he had me pay thru family and friends what can i do to get a refund?
 
Got in contact with katie hand hopefully she will help me solve this problem. This isnt a review on her its a review on thomas
 
Mark, would recommend that you share any proof supporting your claims of poor communication as is customary in the BOI which can include a timeline of events and screenshots of the emails/messages exchanged.

Did Thomas request that you pay via Friends & Family through PayPal?

Have you notified him of this thread?

From now on you should never pay via family and friends. If a seller demands payment that way, walk away from the transaction.
 
Search them on any of the facebook reptile review sites and you'll see 99% bad reviews. Hopefully you get your money back.
 
Serious scammers

Thomas and Katie Hand are very long time scammers. Most recently they scammed folks overseas out of $25,000 selling waxy monkey frogs. The scam is pretty simple - sell something you dont have, then tell the seller to request a refund through PayPal. This has all been well documented in the FB Hamm and Houten group. The are both pathological liars. Katie blames everything on her husband when shit gets tense. Been doing it for years. They have scammed frog folks, gecko, dragon and now guinea pig folks. They suck in every possible way.
 
Saw this posted in a Facebook group titled "FBI - Feedback and Inquiries For Reptiles". Might be worth a phone call if you've had issues with this pair.

Thomas hand noooo

So long story short. Thomas hand took almost 200 dollar for 6 Pac-Man frogs, from. My 10 year old child . I have also filed a complaint though pay pal as well but now she doesn’t have her frogs. We are 2 of many and I mean many they have scammed. They apparently go through a divorce every few months. He takes the frogs , she is left with nothing. These are not people we need in the reptile community. The police department in their county wants me to press charges through my police station and call them so they can handle it. This whole situation has gotten out of hand. My 10 year old did chores in our neighborhood for that money, and I had to explain all of this to her yesterday. Royal nightmare!
 
Colleen, it would be very helpful if you could please post screen shots of conversations and emails. As well, it would be terrific if you could post contact information for their police department.

Also agree with Lucille that emails/messages will help support your case though I have no doubt given their history that you were ripped off by these two.

I also have no doubt but if Starset is continuing to rip people off, the police contact may actually provide help in the future; as evidence mounts their may be investigations for fraud through various state organizations. And of course non erasable evidence is always welcome here.
