In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

We are happy to offer these beautiful captive bred Loxocemus bicolor. This lineage is especially appealing because they stay all black as adults. These are rarely offered, they make great pets and can obtain a fairly large size. We have both sexes available but appear to be pretty female heavy.

These are well started, every animal offered eats frozen thawed and has eaten a minimum of 10 times since they hatched.

$700.00 each
Paypal, Zelle etc. accepted. Buyer to pay actual cost of shipping (TBD). Have references if needed.

Feel free to call or text if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Brandon La Forest

Curious about the lineage. Did the parents come from Josh Marki by any chance?

I'm in the market for new bloodlines, but the friends and family thing makes it a non starter.

Hi this line originated from Bob Montoya and should not be related to any other US lines as far as I understand. I have plenty of references that I would have happy to put you in touch with, the reason I requested it that way is to avoid problems that are seemingly all to common with scammers.

Please feel free to call if you would like to discuss. I am willing to accommodate reasonable requests.

All the best,

Brandon

So just FYI, there were recently some scammers in Arizona that used the Friends and Family line to bilk a bunch of people out of money for snakes. I'm not suggesting that you intend to do that, but with that recent history in that specific geographic area, you may find it difficult to find people willing to pay that way.

Ahhh, I did not know that. I am actually the president of the Arizona Herpetological Association and even in that position I don't hear about those things. Thanks for the heads up, I edited the post.

All the best,

Brandon

I've seen it mentioned that PayPal buyer protection wont cover live animals, such as snakes. So you are basically in the same situation as paying as friends and family if true.

Thanks for sharing this openly, on the board, as I hadn't heard of this, either. It has ALWAYS been my understanding that, if paying with a Visa or MC, THEY honor the charge-back if the defrauded party can provide evidence. Perhaps we should all check into this, and not rely on PayPal at all-?
...
Edit to re-phrase: I meant to say, we should perhaps rely on the Visa/MC guarantees rather than rely on PayPal to refund any lost monies. I didn't mean to imply that folks should just set up their own square or other card merchant accounts and sell directly, although I don't see why we shouldn't, if Visa/MC honor charge-backs on live animal transactions.

Yeah very true on only using a credit card through it, that may keep you better protected versus chancing it with using a PayPal balance or a bank account :)

PayPal refunded me, in full, when I received a half-dead snake. The woman advertised a robust, healthy-looking Hog Island boa, and sent me a snake that had mouth abscesses, was severely underweight, and dehydrated. The claim was processed under Paypal's "Item not as advertised" reason. I had photos, and vet receipts; I don't know if that made any difference or not, but I got all my money back, including shipping charges.

I know you guys are talking about paying via "Friends & Family", but I wanted to comment on the subject of PayPal not covering live animals.

Regarding scammers, you can protect yourself by NEVER paying F&F! If the seller refuses, that's a huge red flag. Not only are you willingly waiving your buyer protection, but you're also violating Paypal's terms of service.

Brandon, sorry for replying in your classified ad, but I thought it would help to share my experience with Paypal's claim process.

Thanks for sharing Kathy and good to know! And yeah we best stop derailing the ad here haha! Apologies OP!

No worries, this information is good to know and should be shared. I am new to selling snakes on Fauna so any information is good information for me.

I have a handful of well known breeders who would vouch for me and initially I was trying to protect myself because I had heard of people "buying" perfectly healthy snakes but using PayPal's policy to not actually pay in the end.

I decided it's just easier since I am new to not request such things.

Thanks everyone!
