• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Hi i am new to buying and selling toads. I am curious why do so many people say they do not accept paypal? As a buyer and seller i have only used paypal because of the protection it provides for both the seller and buyers. i assume as long as both are honest why would one not accept to use paypal as a payment option? Am i missing something? I want to make sure i can protect my buyers and myself as a buyer and seller. What is the best payment option? I hear too many peopl getting ripped off by zelle, applepay and venmo. Thank you for your help

US law changes now require a 25% withholding for any goods&services transactions unless you enter a valid business ID. Some people probably just want to avoid taxes on transactions. I agree many people use other means to scam, but I personally did not realize the laws changes until I sold something a few weeks ago. My money is locked away until I get a business license for now.

Oh my that is awful. That is ruining it for private, small business sellers. Do they just hold that amount until your item has been successfully delivered or are they going to hold it until you provide the business ID number?

Hold it for up to 3 months or until you enter a business ID. You can pull it out whenever if you just let them take the 25%. After 3 months they just take the 25% and give you the rest if you don’t provide a business ID. If you give the ID it releases instantly. I believe once you enter your ID you will just pay whatever amount is determined once you file your business’ taxes during tax season. I’m not sure, I haven’t gotten the business license yet, so I’m not 100% on how it operates.

Oh i understand now. Greedy government, taxing the same item over and over and over again too. I will keep this in mind. Thank you for your time too. Take care

Legitimate small business breeders pay taxes. Legitimate small business breeders are undercut by those sellers who don't pay taxes. Sellers who don't pay taxes have an unfair (and illegal, at least in the US, since all hobby income is required to be as income) advantage over legitimate small business breeders.

Some folks think it really sucks when the rules are the same for everyone. LOL.

I don’t disagree that the law makes it fair for everyone. But I also believe we are overtaxed. Taxed when you make money, taxed when you spend money, taxed when you sell something. Government has their hand in everything and the money doesn’t even stay in the US. 🤣
