In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Chat room working?

It is what it is, but certainly not what it was.

I'm getting an error when I try to go to the chat room.

Anyone else having a problem?

I simply restarted my browser and was able to get into chat.

I already asked my programmer about that count display, but I guess he forgot about it. I'll send him a reminder....

Thanks.

Thanks~ my internet flakes out a lot because I have radio broadband. So the count display helps me see if it's worth my trying to get back into the room once I'm dropped. No point in trying to go back if I'm the only one there~ but if there are more people there it's sometimes worth my time to fight my connection to try to get back into the room after a drop ~it takes it several moments to let me know it dropped me (It's my connection not your sever)~ so I don't know if everyone else left the room or if more people entered it unless there is the little number next to the chat icon~ meanwhile I'm usually in chat talking to myself wondering why no one else seems to be able to hear me!

Does that make sence?
I hope so~ if not.....
Well.....I just really want the little numbers back so thanks for asking about them!

I saw you just now cheryl!

Im in there. will be in and out for the rest of the night probably.

Hey rich, is it possible to make it so the room dosnt kick you after however long of inactivity too? some days i try to sit in there, so that IF anyone wants to chat, ill be there and see it eventually... *shrug*

I gotta take care of a couple chores~ I'll try to get back in soon Moo~ it's usually easier later in the evening when less of the neighbors are using the bandwidth (or maybe I imagine it.....there may be no rhyme or reason!)

I believe that is a GOOD thing to have, in my opinion. It keeps the chat room from getting clogged up with people who just leave their browser open all day long and aren't even using it. If there is anything more frustrating then an empty chat, it's one that LOOKS like it has a bunch of people in it that are not responding to the one active member who is really in there.

That makes sense.

Im one of those "leave it open all day" people. I like to see the conversation i may have missed. OR if i go away for an hour, and come back * we can all spend 4-6 hour stretches in there pretty often* But i totally get what you are saying, and i too would find that frustrating if someone wasnt THERE for the entire time. * i usually only go in there when im AT my computer*

maybe lengthening it? Always thinking over here! Sometimes a topic will go on for an hour, and while you might not feel like responding to it, you do read it. I suppose it depends. That or while browsing the site, and coming in for the occasional comment or so.

I believe my programmer fixed the problem with the number indicator of the number of members currently in chat. If a few of you would test that for me I would appreciate the help.
