• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Classified forums mod

That is fricken awesome! AWESOME AWESOME. Did I say awesome?

Great job bro

Nice job, I like it!!

Will the thumbnail function work for both attachments and linked images inserted into the ad?

No, I don't believe so. The software has the capability of automatically generating a thumbnail for uploaded attachment image files, so my programmer is utilizing that feature for his mod.

I kind of wish it would, though, since the attachments all reside on my own server, whereas the remotely linked image files are someone else's bandwidth and storage space. But I would bet trying to mod the code to handle remotely linked images, thumbnail size them, and then store them on my server would get my programmer wanting to track me down and cut my throat...... :ack2:

Looks great!

I'm not sure if the site is becoming more user friendly or if I am just spending a lot more time here!

I just had a peek, I love it!

I'll have to remember to host the images on here then. I usually don't so as to save you bandwidth, but if the item is sold and the ad deleted we can delete the hosted images too, right?

That reminds me... I still need to get the upgraded code to the photo gallery software to my programmer so her can get the photo gallery back on line.

And to answer your question, yes, you can delete the attachments to your posts.

I made the image thumbnails displayed in the topic line 60 percent bigger earlier today. I had it set that way over on CornSnakes.com, and it seemed like the quality of the image was notably better at that size.

But is it TOO big? It does put more load on the bandwidth for each page that way, so the few people still using dialup may feel an impact on download speed for them.

wow, its really wonderful!!! Rich This is probably the BEST change for this site, yet!

Have you noticed increased traffic in the advertising since this change?

I really like it this way, not too small, and not too big either. Perfect!

It's far too early to tell yet. Most people who haven't been here recently wouldn't even know about it.

I do know that traffic and posting has substantially increased since I returned the classifieds to being free for all members. Of course, paid memberships have also dropped substantially as well. So I guess you can consider the change to free classifieds as a silver lining with a cloud wrapped around it....... :ack2:
