• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is exactly the behavior that I thought was no longer allowed on the classified forums.

People like spj, jas and a few others telling sellers what they should be selling and not selling and to whom they should sell to etc, etc. this is wrong!

Maybe I'm mistaken, please correct me if I am wrong.

I've been watching the 2 threads you are talking about (even though you only linked one, I suspect there is another ;) ). While I have been tempted to intervene, I have been hesitant to do so. Both sellers know how to delete ads should they so choose, and, particularly in the case of the one linked, some useful info has come into focus and saved at least one potential buyer from possibly making a mistake. As noted by Rich in a current Sound Off thread, there are substantial pros and cons to allowing people to post responses to classified ads...and sometimes the responses do reveal some important information. That is why each seller has the option to leave them open or close them.

For that reason, I am not inclined to randomly go in and stop the interactions or close the threads. However, posters in both ads are at risk of incurring warnings or infractions.
Guess I should go back and take a peak at what is happening in the other ad now

Give me a :censored: break Ed.

When did you become the all high and mighty ethical man?

Commenting on JnJ's ad, posting a snide remark in one of your ads as a veiled shot at JnJ, and starting the discussion in the BP forum.

Just because someone has the cash, does not mean they should be sold an animal when they have proven they are not ready to deal with a problem animal (and that was what was advertised).

It took you long enough! I have been bitting my tongue..:D

If you all want to slam a particular member, then the BOI is for that. Doing so outside of the BOI is going to be earning some people "infraction" points.

We finally locked the add, its to bad because there was a lot of valuable information in that thread that a lot of people could have learned from. A lot of good questions were brought up, and we try to answer them all the best we can, but I am not going to put up with a low life like ed raising hell just because he needs some xtra sales.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the valuable discussion in that add.

that would have probably been me. i did not either see or pay attention to the entire ad about the issues of the reptile. with me being new to ball pythons also, and them bringing up the situation of the snake and i noticed it then, i had to step away for the snakes well being. i would not have been capable of taken care of that reptile in the health it was in with me being a nooby, i am learning and i am reading up on things but that doesnt make me capable of providing the care that poor guy would have needed. so i would liek to thank jas, spj, and the others for bringing the issues up, it stopped me from making a mistake and it possibly saved that poor snakes life by me not purchasing as new as i am.
