In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Somebody tell me again why I live in the NorthEast?

It's 05:25.
We're having an ice storm & they say it is going to snow later.
The power has been out for hours (I'm at work, & we're on auxilary/generator)
Estimated time for restoration of power - to be determined.
All I wanted to do when I get home is go to bed - now, I have to make sure the critters are warm.
Crap.
Did I mention that I hate winter?

btw - the phones are out too, not that I care, since I leave mine off anyway.

Looks like you will be snuggling with some snakes when you get home!!! I feel your pain Harald. We have been getting pounded with snow here in the Midwest.....

Harald

I spent some childhood years in New York. I agree that winter storms are miserable and disheartening. I hope that you and the critters get warm soon.

I'm in PA, I hated that storm, I was suppose to have a snake shipped out that day! Screwed up my whole start of the breeding season :/
And what about the snow we got in Novemeber?!
I have lived here 18 years and I can't ever remember having snow in Novemeber!
It usually doesn't snow until late January!
I want to be warm :(

Maybe I'm misreading this, but are you planning to breed an animal that you are just getting shipped? I noticed you buying a lot of animals, do you practice quarantine? You might want to do some research on quarantine and the dangers involved in failing to do so.

I really wonder sometimes why I live in Iowa. I'm really starting to hate winter, it was fun as a kid. Most people around here are expecting one of the worst winters we've had in a long time. It doesn't help with the fact I'm stuck with a cast on my foot and crutches, little slippery for me to try to go out. :(

Harald,

I sympathize with you even though our winter so far is nowhere near as bad as what you are going through.

I'll send warm, iceless, snowless thoughts your way.

Looks like the snow part of the storm crapped out, but things are a mess.
Power will be out til who knows when (a coworker talked to a guy on one of the repair crews, and was told his would probably be out til at least Monday)

My house is sitting at 65, so that isn't horrible. I could care less about lights & stuff as long as it doesn't get too cold for the critters to tolerate.
It is kind of creepy out there, though, lol

i'm in nj,and it snows almost every year in november and december.maybe not alot, but it's not that rare.do you remember the year it snowed a foot in april, maybe 15 years ago?

Yup - I've got electricity, phone, and internet as of yesterday afternoon.
The repair crews are busting their butts, but its gonna take a while...there was so much damage, and so many different kinds, that things are just a mess. I've got everything back, but 2 streets over in either direction and everything is black & quiet.

When I ran a Midas shop, they had me in upstate New York for 22 months; the 22 coldest months in my life. I was glad to leave there. Going back to Georgia was great.

Then, I was off to Northwest Washington state, where it always rains and/or is cold. And then, the snow.

Now, I am in southwest British Columbia where we are being pounded by yet another snowstorm, the 8th in 2 two weeks. Except for yesterday, it has snowed all of those two weeks everyday. Woke up to another foot of snow this morning and it is coming down hard now.

I miss Georgia.

LOL. Yeah, the ice melted, and then we got hit with back to back snow storms...but I've got electricity, heat, and a snowblower, so all is well.

Oh, and it was icing this morning when I went outside, with a mixed bag (ice, snow, sleet, freezing rain) for today and tomorrow. NY is a nice place to visit...I guess...but I don't wanna live here. And my current top reason isn't weather related - they're trying to tax my Dr Pepper. An 18% "obesity tax"....What a crock.

Michigan, my friend. The weather is the same, there aren't many jobs, and the people here are mean as heck, but we don't have tax on food products.

(I was going to say 'then buy diet', but I don't think it'd of gone over as well....)

I used to say that. Now I drink diet Mountain Dew and diet Dr. Pepper. Everything else still sucks, though. Sugar pop is too sweet and leaves a sticky spot when you spill, diet doesn't.

Please tell me your kidding

Im so glad I live down south
