In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Rare Pythons in Niagara Falls NY

Well, maybe simple to you. I would like to see the genetic evidence that this is true.

Would you like me to post a pic of an Ivory? I am not sure how else I can post this proof.

There are tons of ball Pythons that people label Yellow Belly to get an extra buck. But There are Poven lines of Yellow Belly(het Ivory) snakes.

I believe it was Snake Keeper that Proved out the Yellow Belly. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong.

You mean the half assed research posted posted on the net? If you're such an effining experrt, why don't you point me to the right place?
And if you are such an "effining" expert, you could find it yourself... after all, you did study Mendelian genetics... you should know all kinds of genetics sites....

Since it seems to be such a controversial issue I removed the 'desert ghosts' for now. I'll post some pics/video tomorrow (as explained earlier this weekend), and then everyone is welcome to give their feedback.

If you can answer my question that would be nice of you.

Is your Desert Ghost Yellowbelly a proven trait of both morphs or are they Wild Caught never bred in captivity animals?

Chris,

While you are at it you may want to rephrase or remove alltogether the reference to the genetic stripe you have in your page. The picture posted corresponds to a normal bal python with limited striping and not a genetic stripe morph (proven hereditary trait).

Description: Genetic striped ball pythons are most notable recognized by their solid or slightly broken stripe directly down their back. Usually it is a solid yellow or black stripe marked by reduced patterns on the sides. Price: $150-$500

Well, OK. Do you have anything to add about ball python genetics?
I never claimed to have studied genetics.... you did. I thought maybe you had proof to back up Chris' claims about his fresh imports since you feel the need to defend him here. Are you one of the scientists that works in Chris' lab?

Yes, it's true I have studied genetics. No, it's not true I am defending anyone.

So why are you attaching everyone here? I dont see your dog in this hunt.....

And before you ask, my dog in this hunt is you attacking very respected people on this site and in the hobby like Harald and Gary. They are creditable.... you are not.

Now back to the topic at hand. Does anyone have genetic evidence of Chris' claims? Babies from any clutches he has produced? Even seen babies besides the ones hatched from the farmed females?

I'm not attacking them, I'm challenging them to provide firm data.

As Chris has been asked to do... with no results. The proof you ask for is out there and been proven by MANY breeders. Do a google search for ivories and you will find all the info you need sir....

Bill

The basics of Ball python Genetics are not really under discussion here. If you have a grounding in genetics then the concept of recessive, dominant and co-dominant traits should be well within your grasp. Go to Google and type in "Ball Python genetics". A half dozen sites will pop up that explain the basics and cover the existing morphs..

The issue under discussion isn't if the genetics exist, it is whether Chris is misrepresenting his animals.

Ok, I did that. All I found was a bunch of breeders with a a bunch of anecdotal info.

Maybe you could point me to a site that tells me about the results of breeding my my yellow crested ivory to my triple het reverse black hat semi albino near ghost.

I agree Chris is probably trying to pull a fast one here, but guys like you make it too easy.

Ok, I did that. All I found was a bunch of breeders with a a bunch of anecdotal info.

So people bred "x" with "y" and got "z". Considering the photographic evidence and the ability to reproduce results in a controlled environment (breeding facility), I'd consider that "anecdotal info" to be data at least, and proof at best.

In addition, I think it is highly unlikely for anyone with any backround in either herps or genetics, let alone both, to be forming the argument you have chosen to. I feel you are intentionally trying to take this thread off topic with your nonsensical remarks....or am I just giving you too much credit?

I'll be the first to agree that much of what is "known" about BP genetics is not based on science, Bill. Most breeders don't have advanced genetics knowledge (some do), and morphs are "tested" by multiple breedings (not necessarily in accordance with scientific method). If you are looking for hard data, vs anecdotal evidence, in the area of snake genetics, I'm afraid you have a long wait....however, I'll submit that some anecdotal evidence is better than others, and reliable information can still be obtained.

Stop being so nice to the jackass and just open the door with his head as you're throwing him out. No one is going to miss him or think you're just being a meanie.
