In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Reptiles Plus Florida Good Guys!!

I called Victor from my car when I opened the box. HE INSTRUCTED ME TO HOLD ONTO THE CHAMELEON UNTIL MONDAY, in which he said for me to send it back to the WHOLESALER SINCE HE DID NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILTY FOR HIS MISTAKE. We then discussed since the weather was SOOO hot (over 100 degrees) and I would have to pay shipping costs and she must be alive upon arrival, HE AGREED TO SELL HER TO ME FOR $31.50 AND SEND ME OUT THE CORRECT CHAMELEON THE FOLLOWING WEEK. When he could not supply me with THE PROPER SPECIES HE STATED HE WAS GIVING ME A FULL REFUND WHICH HE DID NOT AND STILL HAS NOT. WHY WOULD I NEED TO SEND BACK SOMETHING I ALREADY PAID HIM FOR AND THAT TRANSACTION WAS DONE AND FINALIZED!?! He has already shown everyone here and myself what type of business ethics he has and since he is so adimate on keeping his money he could claim she came dead to be the cheat he has already shown he is just to keep the rest of the money owed to me as well. I am really suprised after reading his emails to me, his comments to me etc that you would still feel justified in defending such a person.

reptiles plus good guys

ok ok..I'm not going to sit here all night rebutting comments..I have other things to do...I did not mean to get rude with anyone, I just do not like or appreciate being "picked apart" for my opinion on a company...I feel like I'm in a court room with a bunch of lawyers here. All I wanted to do was report a GOOD experience..and it seems as though I cannot do this on Fauna, which is a shame. My opinion stands, as do the facts. If someone has a bad experience, its their opinion. If someone has a good one, its their opinion, too. After all, are we not allowed to express them freely? Apparently not so anymore. What a shame. Again, please forgive my rudeness in being made to "defend" my opinion.

hey...you all, instead of arguing with me remember, controversy always boosts sales!!

That is what the bad guys always say when they get busted. I think it is on page 251 of the bad guy handbook.

reptiles plus good guys

and you would know this and the exact page because you read it? Such nice people here..have fun arguing amongst yourselves, with all the negativity here its absolutely UNBELIEVABLE.

I don't care how many good sales this guy had (in his extensive 3 months with this company). He sold an animal he couldn't identify, convinced buyer to keep it rather than risk summer shipping, couldn't obtain the paid requested species, and has refused to refund the DIFFERENCE!!!

Cathy, the "difference" would be the 5 bucks the pizza guy owes me when he convinces me to keep the $10 mac & cheese while promising a $15 pizza he does not deliver...just so we're all on the same page here.

I'm new round here, but if you think coincidences exist on the BOI, you're REALLY new!

I have been around this site long enough to have seen many many bad guys make that claim as their business fell into the sump.

btw- if I were you I would check or treat for parasites when you get your animal since he did state to me he does not treat for it and if they "appear" healthy he does not see the need. I have the email on that as well! That would go for you too SPAWN since you are expecting an order from him! BE SURE TO QUARANTINE!

Good transaction with reptiles plus

I know this thread is old but I would like to chime in on a personal experience I had with Victor at reptiles plus. I was searching for some redtail green rat snakes.(gonyasoma oxycephala) to add to a small group I intend to breed.
While speaking with Victor, I also decided to pick up another pair of snakes.
The 2 greens showed up in less than 24 hours after payment. box was well packed heat pack was still warm, snakes are feeding and doing fine (in quarantine) If you expect your importer to remove any internal and external parasites and then guarantee feeding healthy animals plan on paying captive born prices for them. the other 2 snakes I ordered were not in the box so I called Victor who told me They were not yet available. He could get them later in the year or refund my money. Since I lost out on the savings for shipping I opted for a refund which was promptly sent through my paypal acct.
Through this experience I would not hesitate to purchase from reptiles plus in the future.

Well, since we're still sharing, I just had an experience that was so-so, i wouldn't necessarily call it good. I was told I was buying a CAPTIVE born female redfoot, well either she is not captive bred or his group has parasites. I could've gotten a wild caught somewhere else cheaper, and probably should have since she's loaded with parasites. I also really hate it when people feed tortosies before they get shipped so they poo all over themselves.

A while back he posted a bunch of geckos I was interested in buying and he is about half an hour away, so I called him and wanted to go take a look and most likely buy some that day. Well, he doesn't carry any of them in stock, you have to order and pay for them, then he orders them from California, then they ship them to him, then he ships them out right away to you. So a lot of stress for the animals involved, and them being wc I'm sure a lot of them don't make it. If I remember right, even if I ordered them, he still wanted to ship them and wouldn't let me come pick them up. Anyone with these particular business practices I would avoid.

After reading both threads about this guy, I decided to look at his website. I was alittle confused since their were to prices for alot of the animals and some of them didn't look all to healthy IMO.

This guy is a reptile broker and nothing more. It's his responsibility to treat them before sending them off. I wouldn't even buy toilet paper from him, since he might give me paper towels and charge me for both... Yes I'm a douche!

Just to be clear, so we are mixed up. I am a completely different company from the guy everyone is talking about. Just wanted to clear that up. I have a retail store that cares only about customer satisfaction! You are more than welcome to come in or give us a call! 561-969-1205.

Thanks!

Hope to hear from everyone soon enough!!

I have never dealt with this particular business, but from what I've read and heard, I would not even consider dealing with this guy...
Someone who cannot correctly identify COMMON species, and at the same time, sells reptiles that he has NEVER even personally examined should NOT be in this business. (not that a personal examination from someone who could most likely not tell the difference between a bearded dragon and a collared lizard would really do ANY good).

Anyway,
I don't care how many "GOOD" transactions this guy had/has... It does not change the fact that he couldn't care less about the animals.
As far as I'm concerned that means "BAD GUY", and nothing else.

Well, You're pretty easy to please, but I guess someone that doesn't mind having non-feeding animals shipped to them with internal and external parasites as long as they're super cheap would be easy to please?
There was really nothing about your transaction with Reptiles Plus that would cause me to say :
Through this experience I would not hesitate to purchase from reptiles plus in the future.
The only thing I saw that was in any way exceptional was that:
1) You didn't get everything that you ordered (and actually lost of shipping).
2) You had to contact him to find out why the two snakes weren't in the box.

I mean yeah that's great he didn't charge you for something you didn't get but c'mon let's think about this hmmmmmm....

he didn't charge you for something you didn't get .

Doesn't make someone a "good guy" in my book.

The snakes are feeding, as I stated in in my first post and are still showing no signs of internal or external parasites. they are gaining weight and quite spunky I will get a stool sample before I include them in my group. they are imports. theres a good chance for parasites when you buy imports. Theres a good chance for parasites when you buy cb because now many F1 farm raised are sold as cb. certain animals may never see the cbb light of day because the import price is too low. cbb G.O's go for $175 to $250 apiece I payed $59 and yes I am happy.
My vet does float samples for $15. A tube of panacur costs $8 as for him not calling me, he shipped the animals at 6pm and I received them at 11:30 am next day. So I called him first big deal my money was refunded. Veiled crazy Lil tanker debbie and myself all purchased animals from Victor with mixed responses but none said their animals weren't feeding. So why would you say that his animals were all non-feeding parasite infested? That borders on libel. In his T.O.S. he states that most of his animals are imports and not treated for parasites. same as ben seigel, glades,ERJ,and other import giants many considered good guys on this site. I been in and around this business a long time. And time will tell if Victor fails or succeeds, The whole Debbie cham Mess is a black eye on his record. he deserves that. however he does not deserve you saying all his animals are non-feeding and parasite infested.

So why would you say that his animals were all non-feeding parasite infested?
I never said this. I never made a connection between his animals and this, although you just did!
That borders on libel. In his T.O.S. he states that most of his animals are imports and not treated for parasites.
Please don't start with the libel/slander mumbo jumbo especially since it is well known that imports can have parasites and be non-feeders. besides as noted in another thread on this by one of the Biggest and most respected Names in This Business
As a long time viewer (but seldom poster) on the BOI, I always laugh when I hear the "I will sue you" line. If I had any doubt about the integrity of the seller, that line always clinches it. It is so amazing that they all use the same line when all else fails! There must be some kind of "bad seller manual" that details the steps, and which order to take them, judging by how we see the same progression, over and over.

So I called him first big deal my money was refunded
Customer service, customer service, customer service...that's the name of the game ( especially if a business can't guarantee a healthy animal). If I were to send out half an order, againhalf of an order, I would contact my customer 3 ways: email, call and place a receipt and reason, with the animals.
I wouldn't expect them to open the box " WTF, where's the other half of the order?" I better call him " OH you were too busy to contact me and maybe head off my disappointment and confusion in only receiving half of the order OK, and you're going to refund my money because you didn't fill half the order and I lost on shipping...wow great, where do I go to start a good guy thread on you...

easy to please!

I'll let Kathy's post finish my thoughts on this matter
Considering how the seller kept emphasizing that the chameleon had to be alive, and the same one, I would be extremely nervous sending it back and relying on his integrity to truthfully report the condition of the lizard upon arrival, as other posters noted as well.

I am always happy to hear of good and bad sellers, especially in Florida, where I am based. I don't keep chameleons, but am always getting asked about reputable places for customers to buy animals I do not sell, or asking about a particular dealer. If I don't have any direct experience, but remember a "good guy" or "bad guy" thread about the person, I like to direct them here to read and judge for themselves. I don't know if you will ever get satisfaction, but at least you will be pretty much guaranteed that the seller will lose far more business from this thread than he made from you. Not a great consolation prize, but better than nothing. 10 years from now, this thread will still be here if anyone wants to search for this seller's name and reputation.

I hope you eventually are able to get it resolved, however unlikely.
