• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Jeff Barringer' information I got from the better business bureau in Austin Texas and his company has a rating of F! He never responds to their inquiry which is typical of Jeff. I submitted my online order form that took my credit card number and never contacted me about it when I asked when it would be processed. This is credit card fraud and he should not be selling t-shirts and other items online using credit cards or checks. He is stealing your information. I filled out a complainant with Texas Attorney Generals Office online after speaking with and agent for them. www.texasattorneygeneralsoffice.gov and went to consumer and then to file a complaint about not receiving communication after they got my credit card number. Jeff's information is Onlinehobbyist.com,Inc. telephone:1-512-791-6536 he most likely will not answer due to he screens all his calls and they go to a message center. The better business bureau is not very good to get any investigatory action for credit card fraud or discrimination. The more people contact them they may shut down kingsnake.com for fraud and discrimination even though Jeff repeatedly claims it is a "private site" that he owns. Yes he owns it but selling to the public is not private!

you are the same guy who said you had been trying for "3 years to get reinstated" on kingsnake. I don't know what your deal is, but your motives and intelligence sound questionable to me. how hard is it to get a new account on a forum?

I've had a similar problem with Kingsnake... I payed for my "membership" via credit card so that I could post classifieds a few months ago... I posted MAYBE 3 ads and my membership was terminated. I could not figure out WHY my membership was terminated, and no matter how many emails I sent got NO explanation whatsoever.
After about a month and a half of emailing, I got a reply stating that I had used my account to have people other than myself post ads, and since that was a violation of the TOS, my account was terminated.
Apparently, by using "Jay" instead of "Jason" in one of my ad's contact info, I was indeed a different person... To this day my account has not been, and I tend to think will not be reinstated. It really isn't a HUGE deal, since I have nothing to really sell at this point anyway, but the principle of the whole thing makes me RATHER unhappy...

easy. he can't. if he was banned from their site then it is against the rules to create a new account to circumvent that ban. if you get caught circumventing a ban on their site, they will shut that account down as well. A lot of people that complain about kingsnake do so because they are miffed they got banned and then whine when not allowed back. And there are few that are miffed that they keep getting caught trying to circumvent their bans with new accounts.

Bout every six months some chucklehead in need of a reality check either starts a new thread on this topic or revives an old one. It is usually a direct result of them having gotten the boot and then shooting off a knee jerk Email to a moderator at Kingsnake.

Let's Recap

1.) Kingsnake is a privately owned site just like this one. They can refuse service to you for any reason they choose.

2.) The agreement you acknowledge when you open an account states that any monies remaining if you are shown the door are forfeit. Don't like that clause, you have two options

a Don't sign up for an account

b Don't get your dumb behind booted off the site

3.) Kingsnake states repeatedly in their TOS that they will not tolerate any abuse to their staff. Answer...be polite if you are asking a question

I think that about sums it up for the next six months.

I have to agree with John. Years ago I had an account with KS as my wife does now, and never had a problem since the rules are as simple as the directions on the back of a pack of toilet paper.

ole bill is just all still pissy cause he got banned a long time ago for attacking people on one of the python forums and kept getting caught over and over and over with making new names and being blatant about circumventing the ban they put on him.

I'm glad you feel that the only way you're able to make yourself feel better is to assume things about people you've not only never met, but know nothing about...
I have never had a problem with ANYONE in the reptile world other than people that are lowlife scumbags... and unlike most, I am not afraid to call them out.

However, I never posted even a single post on the kingsnake forums... All that was ever posted was a few classifieds... so you're "theory" on my attitude being the problem was completely wrong... good try though, hopefully it made you feel better to act like a 12 year old for a few seconds...

Let's look at Kingsnake for what they are. They are the biggest reptile related website around, I do not think anything else is even close. They got to be the biggest, in part, to being either the first, or one of the first, large classified sites, forum sites, and chat sites. Site owners, and cage makers know, the real money in the reptile business is NOT in breeding. Own a site, it is mostly automated, earn money while you sleep. You do not have to feed the materials used for making cages, or racks, etc.

If you did not like Coke back in the early days, you did not have many, if any, alterative. Sure, you could drink water, beer, wine, etc., but Coke was probably the first soda company in the US. People saw how much money Coke was making, and where there is money to be made, there is a copycat. Pepsi, the Coke alternative. Then the whole slew of soda's came along. Coke was the first, others copied, for various reasons. Maybe the Pepsi formula came from a disgruntled Coke employee, or someone who thought they could do Coke better, I really do not know. Maybe Fauna is Pepsi, and KS is Coke. Some choose sides, some choose both. If you hate KS, support Fauna. If Jeff alienates enough people, and every person who leaves KS either willingly, or is forced to leave, comes to Fauna, maybe one day, Fauna will be large enough to cause Jeff to scratch his head and wonder what he did wrong. Until Jeff feels it in his wallet, there will probably not be any change.

KS has always been fair to me...if you feel slighted, maybe, just maybe, it was something you did. Look in the mirror. If you still feel slighted, you may have some rights if you paid a membership fee.....

Do you know how Lambourgini started?

Dave

... outside of the point you were trying to make, that is one awful, wrong, terrible, wrong, inaccurate, wrong... wrong... wrong... wrong... history of carbonated beverages you have presented there.

I'm just waiting for Rich to jump in here and correct that misconception ;)

Websites take more maintenance than you think (need to generate new content or, when users make the content, moderate it) and make less cash than you seem to be implying. Very few folks make much money off the internet without a lot of hard work.
