    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Not only is Bill Stonegate simply nasty, he is also ignorant. Defending one's right to free speech can be costly, defending a meritless defamation suit and easily run to $50,000-$100,000.
The BOI is precious, people come here to this site to share their experiences and by reviewing what has been written the rest of us can avoid being scammed ourselves. But there is a very real financial risk in running such a forum, and apparently Bill is unacquainted with those modern realities.

He will be back. His kind always does. Most certainly he was already someone who had gotten banned from here in the past. But without a foolproof way to weed out such trash, they will ooze in under the door no matter what you do.

I think my policy is going to take a turn for less tolerance for this kind of crap. If someone doesn't like it here and just wants to spread their crap all over the floor, then I think escorting them out the door as soon as possible may be better off for everyone else. I know I really don't need them....

Yeah, I know, Lucille. Lately I have been wondering why I would even want to put myself in such jeopardy for some of the people who use this site then go crap in the middle of the floor. Trust me, you all WILL miss the BOI when it is gone...... If you think anyone else is going to take up this risk after seeing me fold it up, you've got another think coming. People have already started up similar forums on their sites, then closed them down at the first THREAT of a lawsuit. Once the bad guys see that a lawsuit threat will get the evidence of their actions deleted, the game is over with for everyone. And unless someone plans on having a sizeable financial warchest allocated to protect YOUR privilege of being able to identify bad guys in public, they will be in for a very rude awakening when the reality of what they are taking on sinks in.

Just don't say you haven't been warned. When I retire from my reptile breeding business, I really won't NEED the BOI at all myself, and the drawbacks of keeping it, the way things are headed, are going to far outweigh any benefits I get from it.

So this is your choice to make. I've done my part.

This is not an auspicious beginning for you. You come on here, criticize decisions of someone who has put thousands of hours into a site that has saved people probably millions of dollars collectively over the years, and your criticism is vague and not helpful or descriptive. I can't help but wonder at your motive.

Possibly..... And I guess you would have made the right ones, eh? ;) So why didn't you use that knowledge to build a better site than I could?

And when push comes to shove, there is no such thing as a right decision that everyone would agree on as BEING "right". So certainly there will always be a subset of people who would call a decision wrong, no matter what it was.
