In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Brad Armitage of NC - deadbeat

Ultimately I would always like to work things out--hobbyist to hobbyist. I hope I made that clear in my communications with Brad Armitage.

If he would have kicked me a couple bucks and the paperwork after my first call---I wouldn't be doing this today.

He talked like a reliable guy. He talked like he had tons of money---I never would have thought that he would have blown the $6K already. He told me he made over $200K on his original Fire male alone--

I thought he'd have a couple hundy to refundy. Or at least own-up, apologize and give me some paperwork.

The Paypal claim will be closing today.

I'll keep you updated on the rest--it will continue to be a learning experience for us.

DO NOT USE PAYPAL!!!

Paypal sent me an email telling me that they have held this case open for more information and could take until 3/1/09 to decide.

I don't see how it's any big deal to Brad Armitage that the shell Paypal account he created got frozen. He told me himself that the money was gone before he even shipped my snakes.

I can tell you've never dealt with TSE/Chris Johnson .

No I never DEALT with him but I'm quite familiar :p
All I'm saying is at least there's a little more of a paper trail if there's trouble. Won't change much, but the story will at least be that much more in the buyer's favor.

Good news.

I received an email from Brad Armitage last night.

Brad apologized profusely and seemed sincere---turns out he found that missing fire female hiding under a water dish in his rack. He said that he will ship her to me when the weather gets better.

I can tell that it was very hard to send that email to me. He said that he had met some bad folks in the biz---and that it clouded his judgement. He thought I was scamming him.

The credit card company also called me yesterday asking some follow up questions about receipt date, etc.

I'm not going to cancel the dispute until I get the snake in my hands--but I feel a whole lot better about this situation.

How does someone loose a snake for that long in their rack?

Doesn't one notice that there is an extra snake in a supposedly empty tub???

He said he's been really busy and this was the first time he had a chance to clean the rack--he thought it was empty. Apparently it was under a heavy ceramic bowl. I'm guessing it's pretty hungry! (he said he had fed it immediately)

As for the paperwork---he didn't mention that part. But he did mention that he felt very badly about the whole thing---doubting me, etc. and that he didn't want his last transaction in the reptile biz to be a bad one.

I've gotten some messages from other hobbyists about his hets, and no one has any stories of false hets.

I'm not sure that there's anything I can do about the paperwork at this point except to fatten the little buggers up!

They all do have nice pied markers--so that's a plus---but by no means a guarantee.

Well, I received the missing Fire female as well as signed paperwork and an apology today.

All done.

Mark,
Glad you got her and all worked out. Once again I am sorry for the misunderstanding and my lack of trust in you, After 20 years in the snake business, you see all kinds of crap and it gets hard to wade through it sometimes, even when I make the error. Good luck with the animals, I am sure you will do VERY well with them.
Thanks again,
Brad

Well it's good to hear he's not a (really) bad guy and things worked out, although methinks this misunderstanding could have been avoided if he'd just given you a little more credence!
