• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

One of your ads is slowing the load time on this site...

For months now one of your ads has been slowing the load time on this site to a crawl on different networks.

I can barely surf this site at various points through out the day.

It is more then likely a off network hosted ad rotator or something of the sort...

Any idea which ad(s)?

Sorry, but the ads are helping to pay the bills to keep this site afloat. The paid memberships really aren't working out too well, so SOMETHING has to pay the bills.

Its the google ads

Not too much I can do about them. Yes, they are coming from a remote server, so there is going to be a delay, but they certainly help bring in some $$ to help out here.

If anyone knows of a solution, please let me know...

I hear there is this seed out there for a money tree. I have yet to find the seeds but people say they are out there. LOL

google ads slow things down but help with bills. I say why be in a rush waiting an extra few seconds is cool. lol............... To think we all use to be on dial up lol

To be quite frank about it, the content heavy websites these days are just not targeting dial-up bound viewers. Heck, you can get your email tied up for HOURS if someone sends you a bunch of emails with image files attached.

Sorry, but it's just not good policy to design a website with the lowest common denominator as your goal.

From this and other posts on this site this is what I am getting, I would be happy to be corrected Rich. If those who use this site are not willing to support it, funding has to come from some place.

This site exists because someone, thank you Rich, thinks it is valuable to them and others. However it is costing someone something to keep it going.

When the site starts to serve more members the value, and the cost goes up. SOMEONE HAS TO COVER THAT COST. Rich has done a great job, IMHO, at keeping things going.

However, there is a point that you get to when you have to decide if you are going to be able to continue to support something, or if it has to support itself.

I think that that point is here or very near. If this site is worth having I would hope the members would be willing to help keep it going. I don't think that those in charge are trying to make a pile of $ by continuing to keep it available.

The cost of being a contributing member on this site is less than 10 cents a day. I know times are tough and money is tight. But if 100 people who come here daily would become contributing members I would think that would be a great help. If 1000 people who come here frequently would do the same I would think that this issue would not be as much of an issue.

I would like to encourage people to support this site so all of us can benefit. I hope people will realize the value of this site and dig deep if needed to keep it here. If I have rambled I appologize. I have started several post in this vein to encourage people to consider helping keep this site and all of it's segments going. I have always stopped short because I thought I didn't make sence. I hope I have managed to get the message across this time.

If you like this site, support it by becoming a contributing member or some day you will click on it and you will not recognize it. It will not be worth coming here even if it is free. For myself that will be a very sad day.

With that said I post this without checking for spelling or grammer so as not to give myself a chance to change my mind. Forgive me if my spelling makes me look the fool.\

Thanks, Jerry.

Truth be known, the BOI is definitely in jeopardy of being closed by this time next year. For reasons I have explained in one or more other threads. The $64 question, of course, is whether or not this site will survive after the BOI is gone.
