In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I use thes in every cage. For $12 at walmart, you can't go wrong.

Battery lasts about a year, and with humidity constant at 40-75% back and forth, the units last anywhere from 3 yrs on. 1 went out after 3 years, some lasted 4, and I still have some that been going for about 7 yrs. Never rely on what the thermostat says completely, always have a second source.

Mount the read out on the cooler side of the cage about mid level, run the sensor over to the hot spot. It will measure humidity, ambient (in) and hot side (out).

Don't be alarmed if it reads a degree or 2 off from your thermostat or temp gun if you have one. What you want is to measure the hot spot, get it where it should be, and just use the unit as a gauge from there, to let you know if temps spike or drop too far. Has a min/max feature that you can check and clear as often as you want.

Hope that helps

Soon I will seperate them. I have the two tanks.

That's another point I meant to add. Tanks should only be used as a temporary enclosure. You will have problems and spend a lot of time keeping ambient and RH at proper levels. Tanks just aren't meant for Boa. Glass is a poor insulator, humidity and ambient temps go right out the top. And it don't take a very large boa to wedge up against a hide or something, and crack the glass. I've paid for a few sutures from just that.

Anyway, point being, start saving for a proper enclosure. You'll see the difference they make in the snakes health, and amount of time you spend in upkeep.

Oh my new enclosure I just put them in there yesterday isn't tank and made for snakes. I could get you the name of it you like me to. Oh man dude your on my like glue. I just say tank and you think glass enclosure. I am joking though but you got my laugh a bit. Thanks for your help.

Just sharing info, not really trying to get on you. Yeah, I did assume tank meant glass aquarium. They are pretty commonly used to house reptiles, and some species of snake do pretty good in them. Boa don't.

I am interested in what it is though, if not a tank.

Yeah, Boaphile cages are good cages. Should last a long time, and won't make you work so hard keeping the environment optimum for your Hog either.

Good luck!
Rick
