In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am currently piecing together my thesis project in order to obtain my Master's degree. In order to do so, I am going to be working on colubrids, more than likely different species of rat snakes. I am looking to acquire these snakes in the next month to two months. I am wanting to throw this out there to see whether or not this is feasible to buy them, or if I will have to spend my whole summer collecting them myself.

This is what I need:

ADULT MALE wholesale priced snakes, I am needing 10 individuals of EACH species. The species that I am currently considering are listed below:

NORMAL male cornsnakes
Bairds ratsnakes
Yellow Ratsnakes
Black Ratsnakes

I may consider other species, but am really wanting to stay in the Elaphe.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT contact me unless you can provide ALL MALES. I do not want morphs of any kind, or females either. These MUST be breeding sized individuals. Captive bred vs. wild caught does not matter to me, but if you do collect these for me you must do so LEGALLY.

Cornsnakes have been reclassified into the Pantherophis Genus, will that affect working with only Elaphe?

I'm curious as to what is going to happen to these snakes at the end of your thesis.

She forgot to ask for a very large, aggressive Kingsnake ( any sex)...lol

Seriously, good question.

I will answer the questions as posted:

Cornsnakes have been reclassified into the Pantherophis Genus, will that affect working with only Elaphe?

I was aware that they had been reclassified, and I do not think that it is going to seriously affect my outcome research wise. I have the freedom to select whichever species I would like to choose, however I chose the above because they are species that are on the cheaper end of the spectrum and ones that I figured I could get large numbers of individuals for wholesale prices.

To Shiari, you asked: "I'm curious as to what is going to happen to these snakes at the end of your thesis."

I will either see if other students in the department will be interested in using them for their research, or I will rehome them.

ForkedTung: "She forgot to ask for a very large, aggressive Kingsnake ( any sex)...lol"

Did I miss some kind of joke here???? I have been keeping reptiles for the past ten years, over 36 different species actually, so I am well versed in reptile care and that is why I am pursuing research in the area. Not really sure what you are getting at, unless you are trying to insinuate that I have no idea how to care for large, aggressive snakes. Having kept well known aggressive colubrids and large boids over the course of several years that is quite the contrary actually. :D

A lot of research dealing with animals results in the animals subsequently being euthanised and studied. The "joke" was that the king snake would eat the others at the end. Giving them to other students to use for research is not a particularly (in my opinion!!! just my opinion!) ethical thing to do as you have no way of guaranteeing that those animals will be alive when the other students "finish" with them.
