    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

and as for his ad.. I agree, that it could be a bit misleading that the photo is in fact NOT the snake for sale.

BUT.. he then offered to take new photos for you OF the SPECIFIC SNAKE for sale.. you declined.


Perhaps he could just put *snake photo'd is not the one for sale* (something along them lines) on his ad? would that help?
 
So let me get this straight...you are offered pictures and you decline, the shipment is a day late so he feels bad and send you a FREE snake too and your complaining the pic in the ad wasn't the animal for sale? Are you kidding me?! I'm not even real sure why you would care about the ad now. What difference does it make?

Selling sick snakes, admitting to being a 'flipper' in another thread, offering ridiculous trades as well as trades on many ads at the same time....I think you have some nerve to post this thread.

Some of us are in this hobby for the love of the animals.......are you?

Great idea. Anything to show that the picture is representative, not an actual picture of the animal for sale, would prevent any misunderstanding.

The classic 'bait and switch' is where a seller shows a picture of a desirable item, and upon inquiry, the potential buyer is told that the item is not available, and then steered toward a more expensive item.

That did not happen here. The snake sold was not only not more expensive than the ad price, apparently it was sold for less than the ad price. In addition, the seller presented the buyer with an additional snake as a gift.
An accusation of a bait advertisement is a serious accusation, and clearly it did not happen here. As mentioned above, it might be good for the seller to include words showing the representative capacity of pictures which do not portray the actual snake, but clearly this was not a bait ad. Be careful of your words, Mr. Phong, you are responsible for them.

I think Ben's disclosure that the snake pictured is no longer available, and that pictures of remaining animals can be sent is more than sufficient. This buyer is officially on my "Do not sell to" list.

I'd deal with Ben any day!

Why should I be like you and have just one name for publicity and to be popular?? Im not a business trying to be known ok mr money thinking?? Here is here. Handle it here. See Thaoi the reason I use the same name here and there is because I want people to know who they are talking to. See to me it looked like you were getting flack here so you went there changed you user name to sell something that you couldn't sell here. I looks majorly shady in my book and it doesn't matter because we aren't stupid we can tell that it is you because the pictures are the same. It has nothing to do with your name it has to do with a young person thinking he knows everything. I believe I tried reaching out to you and explain why you weren't able to sell that Enchi care to tell everyone how I was helping you?

I canNOT believe you would EVEN try to play THAT card on this multinational board with reptile hobbyists from all over.

We accept people from everywhere, and welcome them. We do NOT accept people who go after someone who has worked a lifetime for a good rep, and who then defames this person by accusing them of bait advertising tactics, when it was so clearly not that at all.

Perhaps you had no adequate answer for your poor behavior in starting this thread, so you went ahead and played the 'name' card, thinking it wouldn't hurt you. But, it has.:angry:

At least I know the name you use to sell under on the other forum so I can avoid buying from you at all costs. The reason that most people use the same username on different forums is so that people know who they are talking to. You can build up a decent rep through the forums via sound advice and pics of healthy animals and setups. You can tell quite a bit about someone by how they act behind a keyboard, you are a perfect example of this. You strike me as someone who really doesn't care about the animals, but you seem to care about the "game". Anyone who really does care about the animals would avoid you if they took the time to research you a bit. I have a tough time believing that you found fault with Ben after how he handled himself throughout the transaction. The fact that when someone calls you out on something your only response is to call that person names. You come off like a kid who wants attention.
 
I have purchased from Ben Siegel and been very pleased. One reason i was confident making the transaction is because of the feedback in this forum. This thread has only strengthened my opinion of him. shipping a free snake because he missed shipping by one day after already reducing the price on the origional snake and eating the shipping????? That is awesome!
What is your response to Mr. Siegels offer to take pics of the actual snake for you?
I fail to see the problem.......
