    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

its Nitro xD is a very poor experience to do business with and i would suggest staying away from his adds. I talked to hhmoore and he suggested not doing business but i gave him the benefit of the doubt and went for it. He was not home for the day it was being delivered and i gave him an email the night before it would be sent and i included the tracking number. So he wasn't home for the day it would be there and it got sent back to the post office. He did not even go to the post office to get to it that day, so then it came mid-day the day after and the lizard was dead(as he said) so he said it was my shipping that killed him which could not be a legitimate answer when he missed the delivery of the Savannah monitor. so i asked him for a picture of the animal and he said it was horrible and he doesn't have it anymore so i cant even be sure he did not receive a live animal when i stuck to my end of the deal and shipped him but he was not responsible enough to be home to sign for his package, this is a live animal not a jacket lets keep that in mind. i did not receive one thing in return for my shipping charge or his Nile monitor in exchange for the trade when i stuck to my end of thew deal and it was my loss for his irresponsibility. also not to mention his name was Nik Rooney but on the shipping signature label it said. P Rooney. so i would suggest avoiding his business, so be aware, thanks for your time, Max R. :angry:
 
Well, Chris...I saw you reading this thread earlier today, aren't you going to step up to the plate?
 
Your thread is a little confusing. Did you ship it without hearing back from him that that day would be ok? You might want to post any contact info in case he goes by other names.
 
Chris Applegate is the person I told you about that actually got the nile monitor from Nik. I'm not going to tell his story for him...but I have asked him several times to post it here (including right after you contacted me)
 
oh, i would appreciate that for some more support so people can really get an idea of the kind of person he is. so people do avoid his business and don't kill animals by sending them to him. thanks for your time, Max Retallick

I vaguely remember, a month or so ago, a situation where Chris had worked out a trade for a monitor. I believe that after he sent his part of the trade, the recipient claimed a gecko had died and refused to send the monitor. Is this what you're referring to, Harald? If so, I was always curious as to how that ended up playing out. I tried to go back and find the ad, but I'm guessing it was deleted at some point.
 
i know he talked his way out of it when i confronted him and i felt bad not giving hima chance next time i will listen to the more experienced herp keeper, my fault.

What the hell kind of flawed mentality is that? That really sucks you got ripped of man, but if someone like hhmoore, who is a moderator and sees these good/bad guy threads day in and day out told me to avoid dealing with someone, Id take that advice. Too many good folks out there to risk a bad deal.

I'll leave out the obligatory "you should have listened to Harald" commentary. Given Mr. Rooney's past actions on this site and his refusal to supply a picture, I doubt there's going to be a hell of a lot of demand for proof on your part. However, you should probably post the emails w/headers where he asks you to ship and any relevant subsequent replies. If I were you, I'd keep my eyes on the various classifieds sites looking for any ads this guy posts. He seemed to be the kind of dumbass that might try to sell something he claimed had died in transit.

I feel it's true that you got ripped off, animal is either dead or not, who knows. "Nitro" should be accountable for that.

I also feel that you could have avoided this whole mess in the first place, too. One of those things to learn is "An ounce of prevention saves a pound of cure"

Nitro is still liable, but you should listen more.

That is the situation I was referring to, but I don't feel it is my place to post the details (despite capplegate sending me all the PMs). I believe Nik did end up deleting that ad, but I have been waiting for Chris to post...because resurrecting it would pointless without his story as evidence of the lies)

It sucks that you got ripped off...but he's still a kid, so maybe karma will still bite him on the ass. After all, Google can be a :censored: when things like this thread come up in a routine search.
On this site, he had listed his location as Cali...until he got called on it (combination of IP locator + requesting shipping quotes with an Illinois zip code).
Plug his email ([email protected]) into myspace, and this comes up:
