i recently purchased a dragon from Scott( East Coast Dragons) upon arrival my wife and i realized that the dragon we ordered was the wrong sex we ordered a female and we ended up with a male. Normally we wouldnt have cared since it was a very nice dragon. He wasnt very good with communication from the start but Scott has a reputation for having very nice dragons so i figured he was busy with it being a holiday weekend (the fourth of july). No biggie but after to told him about how we had a problem it got worse.. He didnt even tell us that he shipped it out till 2:30 am day that is was supposed to arrive.
Ill just post the emails so you can understand why im frustrated.

He got here fine... But he's a he and not a she. I'm male heavy as it is otherwise I would say screw it. I wanted a girl... But he's a definite boy and it's as clear as day. We need to figure something out.

So you recieved the dragon 5 days ago, and knew it was a male, and emailed him saying "It's a male, we need to work something out".

Have you heard anything? No replies? Did you resend the email? I hope you get it worked out.

A dragon that size should not have been incorrectly sexed, I would ask for a refund including shipping costs.
 
what kinda pissed me off is that we have 20 dragons and i did forget to post one more of his emails it kinda makes it seam that we dont know how to sex a dragon so here is the last email he sent to my wife here is the last email he sent to my wife that was sent on the 7th of july



I had a costumer send me back a dragon that they said it`s a male clear as day. I took the dragon back and kept it .Need less to say she laid 5 clutches of 30 eggs.I will take back the dragon if you like. Or you can hold on to it for a little bit and see. If it turns out she is a he i will send you a female and you can keep that dragon.I have females that have bumps but ether no spurs or very Little.Some times flipping the tail is not all ways right.Let me know what you would like to do.

ohh i also forgot to mention that my wife emailed him the next day asking how long is a little bit never wrote her back but i wrote him friday and he just wrote me back today ill put those up later

do need to work on your communication with costumers since they are
going to be the one that makes or breaks you so i just posted it up as
info.. and dont worry about the dragon we ended up taking care of

i do know how to count pluse i can sex a dragon the right way but i
guess you can since you sent me A MALE and i wanted a FEMALE i know
mistakes happen but not emailing a customer back in a timely manner is
just bs and i wasnt trying to give you bad rep like i said i put it up

You said you were unhappy, he offered to take the dragon back and give you a refund (from what I can see...that email thread is difficult to follow). I'm not sure I see where the problem is.
 
We were unhappy the day we got him seeing he was a male. He told us that to wait it out after we pointed out his "man junk"... So we emailed asking what he considers a little bit of time since we are male heavy and wasn't prepared for another male we responded to his offer the next day, which was on Wednesday and he never replied back till today telling us just send it back.
We just figured we won't even bother anymore when Sunday came around.
It's kinda a slap in the face receiving a male when expecting a female then being told to wait and see if he turns into a female and pops out eggs????
 
On the 7Th I emailed his wife back.She emailed me back on the 9Th.it took 2 days for her to get back to me. I had a reptile show this weekend and had to work my normal job so I did not see the email so as soon as I got to sit down check emails I saw that they emailed me.Her husband emailed me on the 10Th I emailed them back the 13Th.Its OK for them to take time to get back to me. But its not OK for me to.First of all I have no idea who they are so I said to take time to make shore it was a female or a male.I allso said that if we were wrong we would fix it.I see no way that we did any thing wrong here.We have not made many sex mistakes so if we did We said that we would fix it . I think that he took me saying about sexing dragons to heart.I did not Know if he knew or not about dragons.I can not see why I should be treated like this.
 
like i told you threw email scott im not trying to label you a bad guy or treat you wrongly im just not happy that you basically saying that just cause we took one day to think about what to do isnt our fault that you still took so long to email us.. Come on you have on your add that she was a Female but yet we got a male. It shouldnt matter if we know about dragons or not but what i dont understand is why would you tell us to wait or ask us to wait to see if a male becomes a female we even sent you a pic the same pic that is in this post and im pretty sure that every one can see thats a male and not even close to a female...

Dial down the caffeine. You massively over reacted and owe the seller an apology. Things happen...people have busy patches...I am sure you were a priority to the seller, just not his very tip top priority.

if you had Emailed him about the problem and gotten no response at all for a few days it would be a different matter. In this case you are way out of line.
 
The response to his first offer was delayed only till the next day which was Wednesday, the day after we had received the dragon. We had considered that he had other affairs to attend to. Sunday came around and we just figured that it was a lost cause and we had already been attached to the little bugger. He offered the option numero 2 today. Almost a week after...
... I like my caffeine, thank you =)
Like I said, this isn't a bad guy thread. People have told me I should just put my concern out there.

No matter how you want to spin it Russ, this thread should not exist and you owe him a sincere apology. With all the scammers out ther who would have simply blown you off, this guy stepped up and you say thank you with this thread.

Sad...no wonder so many breeders hate retail.

the last last email we got was 5 days after my wife emailed him 5 NOT 1 not 2 BUT 5 so thats why i put this up is because i felt i shouldnt have waited 5 days for him to get back to me or my wife. yeah it took him 2 days to email me but but my wife wrote an email to scott 3 days befor i wrote mine.
that email was sent the same day that we told him it was a male laura that was sent on JULY 6
