In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Repkyle, advertises on geckosunlimited

Buyer beware!

Since he's reading right now, I'd like to know what happened to that "upgrade" to FedEx?
I have been making you wait, so I will send them Fed-Ex for no extra cost. Thanks for your patience

It's unbelievable enough that he's waited this long to ship animals purchased well over a month ago, offering nothing but excuse after excuse; unbelievable enough that he then tried to blame HIS total lack of service on the buyer, still unbelievable enough he won't just refund her money.
And now to turn around and suddenly ship USPS CA to MO (in July no less) without first even considering that there is a possibility no one will be available to receive these LIVE animals is absolutely inexcusable and inhumane -- particularly if these little geckos are on a 2-day trip.

I don't care how many rare and desirable species the guy keeps. If he has no better concern for his customers, his customer service OR, even more importantly, his animals then he is certainly worthy of a Bad Guy thread .. and worth avoiding.

as long as the boxes dont rise above 95 they should be unharmed beings night temps will drop to about 60s so lets hope their alive for his sake. IM pretty sure he violated a law shipping animals USPS.

Believe on their policy states no animals or reptiles.

Lizards are permitted so long as they're not poisonous.

9.3.3 Small Cold-Blooded Animals

Small, harmless, cold-blooded animals (except snakes and turtles) that do not require food or water or attention during handling in the mail and that do not create sanitary problems or obnoxious odors are mailable (e.g., baby alligators and caimans not more than 20 inches long, bloodworms, earthworms, mealworms, salamanders, leeches, lizards, snails, and tadpoles).

http://pe.usps.com/templates/pages/search/vv_docread.jsp?k2dockey=http%3A%2F%2Fpe.usps.com%2Ftext%2Fdmm300%2F601.htm%40PE_DMM300_HTML_5&serverSpec=56.0.145.56:9920&QueryParser=Simple&querytext=(reptiles)&dtype=2#hit0

Now this doesn't mean that I would EVER ship a live animal through USPS. If they can damage regular mail, there's no telling what they're able to do with a live animal.

Since he's reading right now.....

He was reading for a while. I thought the old "I've gots lots of money and this thread has grown my business" reply was coming--but then he logged out.

Kyle is gonna be famous soon!

Don't get me wrong--I am not wishing for dead geckos--I'm wishing for eviscerated scumbag seller!!

Even if they arrive alive today---Kyle Van Der Meer shipped these poor animals into the Summer heat without any input from the recipient (Who couldn't be there to receive them today.)

I'll be waiting for the update. I sure do hope they arrive today!

Well they arrived.. and the person was nice enough to wait until they arrived before they left on their errands. She took pictures while opening the box up and pictures of them in the deli cups (one short cup one taller cup). They both seem to be ok, the female is a little more loathe to move than the male... except the male dropped his tail twice (two pieces of tail were in the cup with him).

I will try to post pictures later when I get the chance.

I am relieved that they arrived, today, and hopefully they will be OK! I still can't believe the crap you had to go through to finally get them. But, You know what, I am glad they are with you, someone who obviously cares about the animals.

Congrats on the new additions! Can't wait to see the picks of them!

Susan-

I am glad they made it. Too bad it had to be under these kind of circumstances in dealing with this particular seller.

Kyle Van der Meer is still someone I will recommend to avoid based on this scenario!

I guess I'm gonna go cut the grass instead of watching everyone tear up ol' Kyle :ack2:

Kyle---you got soooooo lucky today.

The geckos arriving alive will make most people forget that you:

-Made slimy sounding excuses, including the old "I'm so busy but I didn't know that when I took your money" excuse.

-Were disrespectful to your buyer.

-Shipped via USPS even though you said you would ship Fedex.

-Wouldn't refund your buyer's money after you couldn't ship in a timely manner. (Broke Ass Syndrome)

-Almost killed the geckos by shipping them without consulting with your buyer before shipping. (Presumably so you could provide a tracking number for the Paypal dispute.)

The fact that your buyer had to file a Paypal dispute for you to take her seriously says a lot about your business ethics.

She asked for a refund--so you quickly shipped the geckos. Nice.

You got it in a nutshell, Mark. :iagree:

Glad they arrived, Susan. Hope to see some photos very soon.

I just discovered something as I was taking the deli cups to the 'clean me' pile.. the name on the deli cup was "pachydactylus monicae".. I bought a pair of pachydactylus scutatus. I cannot for the life of me find a picture of a monicae, so now I'm not even sure I got the correct geckos :(

ok I've taken a look at the juvenile monicae on jon boone's site, and it seems they would end up striped. so I guess he did send the correct ones, just used an old deli cup or something.

I will try to take pics tomorrow for you guys :)

Best of Luck with the geckos!
Repkyle, I just got into geckos and you've definitely made my DO NOT BUY FROM list. Absolutely no reason for doing all of the things you did. Your almost complete absence ( minus the lame one-liner) from this thread, illustrates your acknowledgment of poor business skills and otherwise. You should be ashamed and consider breeding pet rocks instead of living, breathing animals.
