In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've been a little down on my hobby lately---but I just got my reminder of why it's so cool!

I have a normal male that is a proven quad het for hypo, lavender, bloodred and anery.

I also have a hypo female that is het for lavender & bloodred. (and it turns out she is het for anery also)

The first three are out of the egg and I'm already perplexed!

This male is a hypo lavender.

I think this is a hypo.

The third one has me confused--but it may be a cool looking normal.

There are 5 more eggs. Three of them look interesting...

I love it cuz they are like jelly beans that poop!

Let me know if you have any input as to what you think they may be!

Thanks Dave--It's killing me to not call you Dan, btw.

A couple more for my impatient ass.

This has a clear belly--I think it's a hypo bloodred.

This one is weird--Anery bloodred? although there is red in there...

At first, I was kind of disappointed that there was an unknown anery gene in the hypo female. But I realized that I can now not only make hypo lavender bloodreds with them but I can also make ghost bloodreds.

That 3rd one up there just crawled out and it's a straight BR.

All the thrill has emerged from this clutch--methinks.

I double-clutched 'em so we'll see what the larger clutch brings.

Based on the dorsal picture of the three, I would guess Hypo Lavender Diffusion, Diffusion and Hypo. Always check the belly for lack of checkers for confirmation of Diffusion though. Sometimes heterozygous for Diffusion can express increased red pigment and and reduced (not absent) belly checkers.

Thanks Stephanie! Do you mean that the hypo lav could actually be a hypo lavender bloodred?

That "hypo bloodred" above came all the way out this morning. The tail area looks purplish---I will get some pics when I get home from work.

Yes, based specifically on that head pattern, I would say Diffusion...But I would back that up with looking very, very closely at the ventral for signs of checkers. It doesn't look like those first three have any actual diffusing pattern on their sides, but neither do mine and I know for a fact they are Diffusion. They can actually outgrow that and gain it as they reach adulthood.

Granite with not so great diffusing sides:

WOOT! I will take some more pics soon. The only problem with hatching all these different babies is that I don't think I want to get rid of any of these!!!

I could hardly wait to get home to get these pics!

belly shots of the hypo lav confuse --- er I mean diffuse?

This is the one that I thought was a hypo diffuse/BR. But maybe not? I think I am forcing myself to see a purplish hue....but I'll be better able to tell after a shed. She's out too early and smaller than the rest.

I see you readin and my heart is going bump bump bump! 3MX!

whaddya think??? hypo plasma??

Friday night on the corn snake forum, we are old. :D

I agree that the new hatchling is a Hypo Diffusion based on the dorsal shot. He/she is very bright.

I've never actually had a Hypo Lav in my hands to be able to compare ventral, but I don't see any obvious belly checkers on your little guy/gal there.

My, aren't we impatient, Mark! ;)

I realize after rereading my post that I didn't flat out say...But yes, I do believe he/she is a Hypo Lavender Diffusion!

Thank you!

The hypo lavender diffusion (if it's that) is a male--and he's mine mine mine! Once he eats a few meals, I'll get some better belly pics and post em.

The newest hatchling got spooked and crawled out too early. She was hanging in there with the cord attached but this morning she was unattached and there's a good amount of yolk in there still. She's small.

I started off with all my corn eggs at 72 degrees room temperature.....this batch was laid on 5/9/09.

I brought this clutch into my snake room a couple weeks ago when I transferred all my other corn clutches to an incubator at 85 degrees.

I am worried about the decision to put all those in the incubator. I have different lavender diffuse in there.

The links to that site are great--thank you!

My, aren't we impatient, Mark! ;)

LOL--That could be the understatement of the year!

My friends don't know how I can hang with the hobby. I cut these eggs over a week ago. (Shhhhh....don't tell nobody.)

My ball python clutches kill me!

Now that I has some babiez to look at, I might leave the others alone.

Jeeze! Nearly a three month incubation! I'd have been pulling my hair out!

I incubate at 83 degrees and get nearly all my Cornsnake clutches pipping by day 60.

One of my local friends was singing the praises of room temp incubation. He said the hatchlings come out larger and are usually great eaters.

I got a clutch from an anery bloodred female to this same male a week earlier and they are all chowing on thawed pinks from the first try.

I'm with 83 degrees next year. 3 months is too long!

That is an awesome clutch you have!!!!.....Gotta love genetics of cornsnakes, you never know what your going to get...lol

I incubate my eggs at 83 degrees, and to be honest I only have a few non- eaters a year, some tell my will power and patiance but I usually get them to eat on the 1st or second try......

I did something a bit diffrent this year also, I tried feeding 2 days after hatching, and this has worked out great 4 me, 90% have ate after 2 days of hatching, i cam on this by accident, last year i accidently droppes a pinky in w/ some 1-2 day old hatchlings while feeding others, and when i went to get the pinky out there was a hatchling allready eating it, so i desided i would see how that method worked this year..... Has worked well....I used to wait till they shed 1st, from what I see in this trial, i may not go back to waiting till that 1st shed........

Thanks guys! I appreciate the compliments!

Look at him today--he's starting to haze up. I can't wait to feed him.

2009_0201newcam0041.jpg

That 2nd day feeding thing doesn't sound too bad. I mean there's already a shed on the way--might as well squeeze a feeding in beforehand!

Thanks again for checking this batch out.

My Lavender BR x BR het lavender eggs just started to pip..... :D

Can't wait to see what he looks like after he sheds...

I love it when the eggs start piping, beats the heck out of x-mas any day.....

Plus u get something you want...lol
