    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello today a wierd thing happened I was browsing fauna and all of a sudden a page took over on the computer that said fauna was closing because the webmaster was tired of running it and requested members to look at new sponsered sites any truth? Im confused

I haven't seen that, but if you haven't already read about what is REALLY going on here, check some of the threads in this section. They explain everything as far as I know, from the WEBSLAVE's (aka Big Meanie) own keyboard!

No really it must have been spam from another forum or something Im for real I live in IOWA I cant lie it genetically sowed into my gene pool
 
It gave a list of other forums to sign up for and said members would get paid memberships for thier trouble the webmaster at fauna forums

To claim that truthfulness/ethics is somehow genetic is horrifyingly un American (not to mention unscientific), and to claim that you are actually unable to lie because you are somehow a member of a superior race by virtue of your genes is simply untenable.

Although, the fantasy of a genetic component for truth raises some interesting thoughts: What if an ordinary lie-capable human has offspring by the above mentioned super-race, will the children be capable of half lies?
If a politician gets a transfusion from one of the super-race, will he have to tell the truth until those blood cells die off?

It's 5:30AM, I think I need more coffee before considering all of the above...
 
I'm going to look at this from a slightly different perspective.....

Anyone who really knows how the internet works and computers in general knows how implausible this story really is.... :rolleyes:

He stated he was browsing FaunaClassifieds when his browser was taken over by a page from what could only be a third party source. So tell me, how exactly would something like that happen? :rofl:

Regardless of however much I believe (or don't believe) the story, I was curious about the answer. Guess I was wondering if it would show up as ".com":>poke2<:
 
I don't really know how the internet works~ but I know hackers can make your computer do some pretty outrageous things. I'm with Harold. I'd like to know what web sites it suggested.........
And if it happens again a screen shot would be helpful.......

And can I have a drink too? Not because I don't believe you~ I don't know whether to believe you or not......I just want a drink too!
 
In order for this to be true, either my own server got hacked into (which is HIGHLY unlikely based on the expertise of my server tech guy), or the malicious code was loaded onto this person's local computer when he visited another site and it got triggered when the browser was pointed to THIS site. Although certainly possible, any site that would infect a person's system in this manner won't be around for very long as people catch wind of this practice. So yes, the list of sites being recommended by that hack would most certainly be instructive....
 
OkOk hold on Im telling the truth the web site is called Fauna.org and some how as I was browsing this page poped up saying the webmaster was quiting and selling the site,dont ask me how it just did! some of the other forums I was being directed to were Boa Basement,Hissnhers.com,reptilerooms.net,Flickr.com,geckofrums.net,boaddiction.com.
Well anyway you can believe me or not but in a scientific world any thing is possible unless you have your eyes closed.

So you went to fauna.org and saw all of this or you were on faunaclassifieds.com and saw the popup for fauna.org?
 
you know, i have been noticing profiles here when they attempt to join the "Wolf Pack" group i started, ( I screen members now to see if they are active posters or not) Who have colors and all sorts of ugly crap going on with their Profiles...

Is it possible someone used that method of implementing the code ( i didnt knwo you could customize profiles here at all...) to cause this?

I doubt it. I have had to block embedded HTML coding for a long time now. But of course, anything is possible for someone who is smart enough....
