Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Predetors pete martinez

I have met a couple people that measure a snake by shed, but once I pointed out the mistake they were thankful and surprised that a shed can be two feet longer than the snake.

Paul, those tanks look nowhere near three feet wide. Pictures can be a funny thing and not tell the whole truth. An adult Burm should be in at least a 7 foot long cage. You did your friend a diservice by keeping his snake in a small cage under a tank with a mite infested snake. Who made those cages?

By the way, you have yet to prove that Pete agreed to the $200 you say you deserve. The BOI cannot help if you have no proof to back up your claim that you are still owed $120. Since you have been such a good member for so long, you should know by now that written proof, rather than over the phone, is always the best direction to take any sale done over the Internet. You did know that right? So, you must have proof hiding somewhere backing up your claim that Pete agreed to send you an extra $120. As things stand, looks like your are SOL and still own a 7 foot burm that is still otherwise healthy and can be breed in due time.

I am also curious where one could get a 7 foot granite burm for $300, at the last reptile shows I have attended baby granites were still selling for $300.

I have nothing because we did it all by phone because i was at work or he was at work and it was easier on both of us so i guess i am SOL..

all my burms are in Visions 632 cages with are 6x3x18 inches high. my friend bout a albino male and that big female from someone on craigslist and had no cage for them at all so i told him to bring them over and throw them in them cages.

at the time when i got that granit there was 4 of them on the fourms for $250 to $300 and i also just got a 13ft female albino granite from outback reptiles for $300 so they are robbing you if them prices are so high where you live. I sell baby albino granits for $125 and hets for $100.

i have alot of cash invested in my burms and cages. im working on getting a mate for my hypo so i get some lucys soon and im also looking for a pair of caramel burms.

as for where did i get them cages i custom ordered them threw repti racks along time ago.

Paul you have studiously avoided my question, which is whether the final selling price you came up with for the snake you purchased was an agreed upon price between the both of you or whether it was a unilateral decision arrived at only by yourself.

I'm curious about the snake's length too, I could be wrong but it seems a bit bigger than what you claim. How bout you get a tapemeasure and photograph it alongside?

While I know things cost more in California but $300 for granite burm babies? I'm selling them for $150 and $200 for albinos and they still sit on my table. :( Maybe I should send them out to you Michael?

Studiously, do I detect some sarcasm there Lucille?

But seriously, Paul, the lady has asked you a question :toetap05:

I'm curious about the snake's length too, I could be wrong but it seems a bit bigger than what you claim. How bout you get a tapemeasure and photograph it alongside?

:iagree: And while you got that camera out, how about taking some pics of the rest of your set-up.

Dang, $150 for granites? They are my favorite burm morph. I apologize for the price mistake, I truly believed they were still worth more. NARBC is this weekend...

Paul,
You've taken quite a beating here so far, and a very unnecessary beating at that. I wonder why someone is trying so hard to tear you down, discredit & dispute you, without so much a single word from the other party. I may be wrong but it sure seems that there are some personal feelings clouding a view or two.

I'm flat out amazed how anyone can say there's nothing to get upset about. Especially to the point of trying to tear someone down without a single reply from the other party.

First of all, let's see if we can establish any credibility for either one of these individuals.

Neither one has a Trader Rating. Paul has a Karma Power of 7 while Pete has 3.

However, Pete Martinez has another username in which he has a Trader Rating of 1.

I was unable to find a negative thread (other than this one) on either one of these two.

The snake that Paul was paying on, which appeared to follow typical protocol for payment plans that many people offer, died while in Pete's posession. Very disappointing for them both, I'm sure. This part does not seem to be in dispute.

According to Paul, both parties agree to work things out with a 9ft granite and Pete reimburse Paul with $80. The snake was advertised as being 9ft long and Paul says it's barely pushing 7ft. From the photo of it in that 75-gal tank it definitely isn't 9ft. So now we have a discrepency. One in which anyone would've griped about. Granted, it could've very well been an honest mistake on Pete's part, but that still doesn't render the complaint void.

The granite has a pretty nasty scar on it. One that any responsible seller would've informed the buyer of. Yeah, so it's going to be a breeder and the scar won't affect breeding, but neither will a snake having one eye, or no eyes. I don't care if it's a breeder or a garbage disposal, I want all of my snakes to look good & not all scarred up. That's legitimate gripe #2.

Paul claims the granite was covered in mites. I say "claims" because I don't see any proof of it like the proof that's plain to see about the snake's size & scar. I can't say, nor will I guess, whether it had mites or not. However, if Paul's telling the truth, of which I see nothing contradictory, that's legitimate gripe #3.

Incidentally, Lucille, not trying to be a smart aleck or anything, but what grounds do you stand on when you say, "You stick a snake you say (but I do not believe) came in with mites..."?

Who knows where your mites came from if you have them,...
In his first post, the 6th paragraph, Paul said, "I recieved the snake threw delta and when i opened the box there was no cash refund and the snake was covered in mites."

You haven't answered yet whether the price drop was your idea only,...

I also like to have proof of claims to form a sound judgment, however, Paul has already said that it was verbal, and he did say how the price drop came about in his first post:

i was really mad when i recieved this snake and i called pete and told him all the problems and i said i dont want $80 i want $200 back. so the price woould of been $450 shipped and i think thats more then fair for this size granite burm.

a week passes and he sends me a paypal for $80. i asked him when should i expect the remaining $120. he said its will take some time. times are tough right now so i gave him some time. its been 2 months now and no cash yet.

but you decided to try to trash someone who has a good rep and who gave you a choice and the reasons you gave were not sufficient, IMHO.

With all due respect, Paul has very legitimate reasons to complain. There's nothing within Paul's posts that indicate he's trying to trash anyone. Yeah, he may be frustrated, but who the heck wouldn't be if the same events he laid out happened to them.

if that snake is under 9 it doesn't appear to be by much, A healed scar? So what, in a breeder? A bit under 9? Not enough to cause all this fuss.

Actually, when talking about breeding Burmese pythons, 7ft, 8ft, or 9ft can make a season of difference. Female Burms generally reach sexual maturity at around 9ft in length. So, is the snake mature enough to do what it was sold to do? :shrug01:

Pete Martinez has logged in since this thread began. It would be nice to hear his side of the story.

Lucille, I don't mean to pick on you & it's nothing personal. I just feel that you were needlessly hard on Paul without any evidence that he wasn't telling the truth or any reason to question his character. If you know something we don't please share it with us. Until then, I believe that Paul is warranted the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Nothing about his story seems odd or out of place.

Paul & Pete,
I hope the two of you can work this out. We all share the same passion so let's try to put ourselves in each other's position.

Ya'll have a great day!

Great post! Well said.

But seriously, Paul, the lady has asked you a question :toetap05:

I thought I'd surely have an answer to my important question by now, and a picture.
The answer to the question is critical to this thread; the silence is deafening.

maybe this will shut some of you up.

You know (well obviously you don't), when bringing things here to the BOI it is in your best interest to provide all information to support your claim. When people ask you to post e-mails or ask you questions that you did not furnish when you made your initial post, it would be in your best interest NOT to get your wittle feelings hurt and then finally respond with an attitude. Unknot those panties and just answer the question(s).

we discused refund over the phone

"We discussed a refund over the phone" could mean you said you wanted a refund and he told you to go fornicate yourself. Why are you being vague in answering the question? Must I rephrase it for you? Did you and Pete decide and agree upon the amount to be refunded?

im not the only one in my family into reptiles and i also inquire for other people to see if i can make some kind of profit for myself i dont have cash so dont accuse me if you dont know the truth about whats going on and im not ignoring you i just dont have money

Without your smart-assed attitude would you inform us of the time and dates of the pm's.

It looks like he responded to your e-mails within a day's time and he pay-paled you within 2 hours of you sending him your e-mail address.

And while I can understand a long day at work, are the requested pics forthcoming?

He didnt have the $650 for a refund because i was son mad over this deal. he was tring to make it wright with me over the phone and he seem to be a cool guy. im not bashing him at all but i guess no one sees my point of view on this but HappyHillbilly/B]. as for pics i will charge up the camera and take a pic of it in its cage so you can see how big it is. I been power feeding the hell out of her but not to much difference sence the first pics. I just got home from work and im tired so off to bed for awhile. will post pics later tonight.

He was saying how broke he was and if he sent me the whole $200 he would be broke so he sent $80 so he can have some cash in the back for gas to get to work and so on.

I know it was said that Pete Martinez was notified of this thread...how was that done? If it was via PM here, to which account was the message sent? We're 4 days into this, and not a word from him.
