In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just wanted to say that my dealings with Bill and Jim at Loxahatchee Herp Hatchery & Rodent Farm were absolutely great. I have dealt with allot of rodent guys and they are one of the best. Not only were their rodents high in quality but they were VERY reasonable. They are one of the few that will ship at a reasonable price. I will definitely do business again with them and I would suggest them to anyone!!!

Thanks
Blaze

I'll second your recommendation - and raise you a "thank you" for posting about them here. :) I never thought to do it.

The rodents I have purchased from them are the cleanest, healthiest feeders I have ever purchased from anyone. No feces in the bags, no freezer burn (even before their new vacuum packaging), accurately sized, and they smell fresh when you defrost them. I have been buying from them for about a year and the quality has remained consistant.

Their prices are incredible, their service is outstanding, and the quality is top notch. I'm very fortunate that I live close enough to be on their delivery route.

I would also highly recommend them to anyone in need of high quality rodents with excellent customer service.

Jim sold me my original rats that became my breeding stock -- i agree with posts 1 & 2 ; top notch operation - highest quality available-- the facility is awesome--Brian O'Neill

These are two of the best guys in the business. I have had the pleasure to have several dealings with them and have always come away more than happy. If there was more people handling there business like them the BOI would not need to exist. I have purchased snakes, Rodents, and supplies. Always the best.

After getting some questionable service from a couple of the other frozen rodent suppliers, I gave Jim at Loxahatchee a try.

Excellent service, comparable prices and great product. I'm placing all my orders through them from here on out.

These guys really are the best. I pick up my frozen feeders in person. The buildings where the animals are kept are quite large but meticulously clean. When I had a small breeder colony, the smell could get nasty. Loxahatchee somehow has thousands of rodents with no smell. They really know their business, and could not be friendlier. Know that what you are buying is coming from a great place.

These guys have my business from now on when I need frozen rodents. I've purchased from the big guys in the industry and have always been disappointed in both the quality and the packaging. But when you need rats, you need rats..

I received my first order from Loxahatchee today and am blown away by their attention to detail. Feeders are clean (no feces, bedding, or other debris in with them - white rats are actually white rather than yellow!), well packaged on meat trays and vacuum sealed (not tossed haphazardly into a bag with others to make one large frozen tangled mass with freezer burned edges), and look and smell fresh (as opposed to looking like they've been starved, kept in dirty bedding, and thawed then re-frozen). These rival the quality of rodent I'm producing here, and I don't feel a bit guilty supplementing my production with these. The "other" guys should be ashamed of themselves for what they've tossed into those shipping boxes at times.

Thanks Loxahatchee, for giving us comparable pricing on a MUCH better product.

Do they ship anywhere? Does anyone know anything about rodentpro? I have not made the switch to frozen yet but I was thinking of it and they are much closer (one state away)

Yes, they do ship though it's just as expensive as anywhere else. Buying in bulk brings down the cost per rodent though.

As for rodentpro, I won't get started on that here since this is Loxahatchee's thread, but my post above is comparing the two in my experience with them.

jut got an order of 100 rat pups from Loxahatchee today. I had used up my last frozen rat pups last week and was in a hurry to re supply. I must say I'm pretty impressed.
My last order had been from Rodentpro....which while I was content with my order from them...took me 9 days to get after placing my order

With Loxahatchee...I ordered my rats on Friday, January 8th....they where shipped out yesterday (Monday, January 11th) and I got them in today through Fedex

The rats where also vacuumed sealed in flat packs, and stack very well and very tight into my freezer. Which saves so much space compared to others companies loose zip lock bags....the pups look a nice and fat, bigger then I'm used to getting else where.

I'd must admit I will most likely be looking back to Laxohatchee for my future frozen rodent orders. Their prices where pretty good to....they have a sale going on atm with their rat pups and it turned out to be cheaper then if I had gone with Rodent pro...along with faster shipping and vacuumed seal rats. It was a win, win situation and I'm very happy =)

Here are pics of my order, I do love the vacuum packed...100 rat pups, 25 pups a pack...nice and compact hehe

This looks so great. I was looking at Loxahatchee since I live in Florida and didn't want to wait forever for my rats to be delivered. This is my first time ordering frozen and I am going to be placing an order on Monday with them for me and my cousin's snakes. I am so glad I checked the BOI and that they have such positive reviews.

Recently had a couple reptile transactions with Bill, and it was just as easy as buying rats off them. Can't say enough good stuff about Loxahatchee.

After reading this thread I went ahead and gave Loxahatchee a try. Unfortunately, there shopping cart shipping function wasn't working properly, but I was able to e-mail them to get a quote. They got back to me quickly with a very reasonable estimate so I placed an order. Unfortunately the shopping cart wasn't quite fixed so when I submitted, the shipping was apparently wrong (it had UPS and they only use FedEx).

On Monday I had a voicemail and an e-mail when I came out of a meeting. Stacey was very nice and helpful. It was straightened out and my package still managed to ship out the same day.

Let me just say that when it arrived on Wednesday, it was packed very well and everything was frozen rock solid. The rodents themselves were SUPER clean, were organized by size, and were vacuum packed. If they sold rodents at the grocery store, it would look like this. :p

Anyway, I ordered from Rodent Pro for years and never had a problem, but apparently it was because I had no basis for comparison at least in part. Yesterday I pulled out the last of my Rodent Pro rats and there were frozen body parts stuck to them along with shavings and rodent waste. When I put the Loxahatchee clean, perfect rats out to thaw next to them- well, it was quite a difference.

Great experience, great customer service, great products! I will be a repeat customer for sure.
