In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello. I am having some severe problems with:

Jon White
216 Main Street
Princeton, KS 66078

Faulty claims with PAYPAL over a green anaconda. Here is the email I got when it arrived and the 2nd:

"Ok. The snake is great! No attitude at all! amazing anaconda. Thank you. I will be back soon to do more business"

4 days later I have a dispute from PAYPAL about scarring and infection and a $54 bill for BAYTRIL.

This e-mail:

"Oh by no means am I wanting a complete refund. And I'm not saying you don't take care of you animals. I'm just saying I think you should have mentioned the scars and probably put a heat pack in the box you shipped him in. My sister is was the vet that looked at the snake so the only thing she charged me for was the baytril. Which makes it nice :) you know how them vet bills can get. But she did tak a culture and it showed many signs of infection. If you wanna be a nice guy you could just kick me back $50 and we can call it good. And trust me, I am no way shape or form trying to scam you. I'm not that kinda guy. If you make this right I will be ordering many many more animals from you. I don't order my snakes off the net usually. But if I can find a place that treats me right and that I can trust then I will continue to do business with them. And you people seem pretty cool. I drop about $15,000 to $20,000 on herps every year. "

Here is my response:

"Nothing personal. He was in good shape and I will refund the baytril price but business is business so I need some sort of receipt showing what was actually paid."

The claim through PAYPAL was for $100.

What do you think?

First did I handle it properly and if his sister gave him the baytril isn't that a felony?

Anyone nknow about him in Kansas.

I want to believe him I just need a receipt faxed or even a pic.

Vinny Ferraiolo

Vinny,

Ask your buyer for a written receipt signed by the vet with the diagnosis, and then look up the vet online: http://www.accesskansas.org/veterinary/listing.html

It certainly sends up a lot of red flags that he is asking you for fifty bucks, the Paypal claim is $100, and no receipt. Also maybe I just did not search right, but one would think that someone who spent $20,000/yr woud have some sort of BOI track record.

I hope you do not mind my asking, but was there scarring and did you inform the buyer?

This Issue resolved

Mr. White just called me and we seem to have gotten everything straight. I think he was upset and trying to protect his sister. I honestly never really checked his body, BUT this man get a cbb male green anaconda that eats easily and is very tame for $188 shipped. Does that sound like I screwed someone?

Anyway the issue is resolved and this should be a forgotten matter. Mr White is an OK guy just a bit upset.

Anyone know how to erase this thread completely?

Vinny,

You sell snakes without looking them over? And what about the snake's health, the vet sister allegedly said there were MANY signs of infection. What's up with that, what kind of infection was it?

I don't understand the concept of this guy protecting his sister. Protecting her from what? Why did he demand fifty bucks from you but make a Paypal complaint for $100?

It sounds like y'all have resolved things between the two of you which is good, but there are still a lot of questions here.

I find it wild that he said "i am not trying to scam you in no shape or form" RED FLAG!!!! I think he backed down because you called his bluff :yesnod:.I would leave everything here for future references.Sorry once threads are here they are here.

im not a bad guy, just never ordered a reptile off the net. always been from a breeder or shop. and i would NEVER try to scam anyone. im not that kind of guy.

Explain please why you made a Paypal complaint for $100 but asked for $50?

And I want to hear more about the snake. Is it true that your sis is a vet and she found 'many' signs of infection, according to you, did this seller send out a scarred, infected snake?
What kind of infection was it, and is the snake OK now after treatment?

the snake does have scars, and some of the scars were showing signs of infection, and as for the 100 paypal refund i was asking for, i asked for $100 out of anger more than anything. but its all settled now. and the snake is showing signs that the respiratory infection is starting to got awa, it will take awhile for the scars to go away.

all the vague "vet stuff" is a red flag to me. There needs to be A diagnosis. Bacteria is everywhere, so if she just did a culture lots of thing would grow, and that doesn't mean it isn't natural flora. You shouldn't have to refund anything for a positive growing culture unless they clearly diagnose something. That whole thing sounds sketchy to me.

it is all resolved now, my sister was just trying to help me out. she went out of her way to come to my home and look the snake over. im not wanting any money anymore.. just my address off this website

lmao

Here goes another one   .

So you are saying that this snake had infected scars AND a respiratory infection when you received it? Did you quarantine it away from your collection, if you spend $20,000/year on reptiles you must have a lot of them.

Vincent,
Sounds like he tried to bully you to get some money back. He spends about $15,000 to $20,000 on herps every year & this was first online purchase? Did he send you any pics of the scars? I hope you didn't give him any money back.

what needed to be done, is a picture taken of the infected scars, a vet bill, a diagnosis, a lab report with a full culture and sensitivity (with obtained source spot), and indeed a written prescription by a legal and licensed veterinarian. a culture can and does show specific microorganisms (bacteria in this case, or perhaps fungal), and whatever grows diagnostically, will show a sensitivity. many species of bacteria are very sensitive to batril, however, some are very resistant. if all those listed above can be provided legitimately, there is a case for full reimbursement

This is just a weird thread. Seller gets on here with what he characterizes as 'severe' problems, with his buyer.

Buyer first said it was a 'great snake' but now is apparently saying that the snake had infected scars and a respiratory infection when received, and apparently had the infections cultured by his sis who he claims is a vet. If buyer's claims that he spends $20,000 a year on herps are true, he might be understandably worried that this $188 shipped snake might harm his collection.

Seller admits he did not look the snake over before sending the snake out so presumably can't say if the snake had skin infections or an RI when shipped out. But, buyer provides no proof in the way of written diagnosis from his sis.

All of a sudden, the buyer says he no longer wants any money (after claiming his sis the vet took cultures, diagnosed signs of infection, and provided Baytril to the tune of $54) and both parties say the issue is resolved.

Good for them, but not so much for the readers who read the BOI with an eye toward future deals. Is this a headache buyer? Or did the seller in fact send out an infected snake?

both

I would avoid both of them:thumbsup:

The matter has been resolved between both parties, that is a major part of this story. But i think that the seller was true and honest when he said he hadnt checked the animal over before sale. The buyer found issues with or without any proof, and was angry. The remark " i spend 20,000 a year on animals", MAY be true. But non the less no actual proof has been submitted to the readers of this post. Advise would be to stay away from both buyer and seller.

$188 for a Green Anaconda a good deal, heck no. When it gets 10 feet and is evil, then what. They need ponds of water.....whoever would want an Anaconda is beyond me.

If the dude's sister really is a vet, and I doubt it, she would have written up a prescription that said more than "It has an infection." Sounds to me like one party sells wc garbage that he does not even look over prior to shipping, and one guy wants money back for any ole reason, and fakes that his sister is a vet. Let's see a vet invoice, or show us where your sister is a vet, not a vet tech, not a girl in school to become a vet assistant, but a vet. Sounds odd, and I would avoid both these guys like the plague.
