    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This was brought to my attention last weekend and I just now remembered to check it out. I'm not sure if you are aware or not or if it was done intentionally or always this way but I thought I'd let you know that if you are not logged in you can not view any threads on the BOI or any threads in any of the discussion forums. The only thing I was able to view while not logged in were the classifieds.

I think it was intentional....and I'm pretty sure it has been that way since Rich "flipped the switch" on the BOI a few months back.
 
Whether it was intentional or not, I think it's a great idea. Give people a little peek at the site, but if they want to get into the thick of things, they should have to register.
 
Yes, it was intentional. My thoughts on the matter was that I want to get more participation on this site. If you aren't registered and logged in, then you have NO intention of participating here.

But in the case of the classifieds sections, I felt that people posting their ads would want EVERYONE capable of reading their offers. But even in that case, I wish vBulletin had the option of limiting views to only the first post made within a thread.
