    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Do you not even respect your animal enough to clean up. We all encounter cages where they dumped their water... but at least put in a new sheet of newspaper before you take the photo.

This screams of.... "show me the money"... and not... "I care for my animals"

Just wanted to give an account of my dealings with Matt. I have, to date, bought 6 Ball Pyhtons from Matt. In two different transactions. I bought:
1.0 Breeder Pastel
1.0 Pastave
2.2 Woma
His communication during the deals was good, shipping was prompt, the packaging was good, and most importantly, ALL 6 snakes were and are still mite-free, healthy, feeding and beautiful. I have read all the negative stuff about Matt in the past(thankfully after my first deal with him or I would never have bought from him) but as far as I've seen personally he has definitely fixed his shipping issues and, unless I have just been extremely lucky, his husbandry issues must be at least quite a bit better because to recap:
Deals..2
Snakes..6
Problems..0
Thanks Matt and until you give me a reason not to buy from you I will continue to be a customer.

Not to switch sides here Matt but what about the pics? Looking at them again I have to say they raise some questions, the Pied pic is dated 6/29/09...no 17 year old excuse there, that was 3 months ago...and the other pic makes me wonder too. It looks like , from the angle it was shot, that the person holding the snake is the person who took the pic. But that guy is White and I think Matt is Black...is that right? Obviously someone could have taken the pic for him, but the one pic is date stamped and the other is not, which means that they were probably taken with different cameras so are they both your snakes, is someone housing them for you, is someone taking the pics for you, and what about the sub-standard housing in both pics?
I feel kind of like an A-hole here since Matt just left me positive feedback from our two deals today, and I'm not trying to jump on the bashwagon but I did not check the back pages of the thread before I posted because I thought I was caught up on it and these concerns DAND brought up about the CURRENT housing of these snakes are warranted and should be addressed.
I have defended you Matt because the bashing has been about PAST dealings and PAST activities and I have had very recent dealings with you and been very happy with those dealings, so I posted publicly in your defense, but I'm not just interested in good deals, and neither are most people here, I love these animals which is why I keep them...I could give a crap if I ever make one dime off of them, and seeing them kept in bad conditions is a problem for me.
If there is a simple explanation, which I am open-minded that there is, although I cannot think of one right now, then post it and let the bashers have another go at your reason, but personally, I want to hear it.
 
i would like to point out one tiny thing...i am not defending or attacking in any way....just making an oberservation to a single comment that was made lol

I do believe that hand in that picture is Matt's (i could be wrong) as i have seen other pics of him holding snakes and the lines you can see on that hand are the same as the lines in other pics, so it is the same person, and i can only assume its Matt's as the creases in his hands are slightly darker and reflect his skin tone. (I used to be interested in palm reading lol...so lines stand out to me)

Now he could have someone taking pics for him....but the first concept is more plauseable

just becase the palm is pale...does not mean it isnt attached to a black man =) infact just about every dark skinned human has very light palms...not matter what race. Matt is pretty light skinned anyway, so it wouldnt be hard to mistake.

I have seen a few photos of a white skinned hand on his myspace....so there is someone else in the story here...but that is pretty easy to figure out without pictures of hands. As im not sure if all those racks and enclosures would fit in whatever enviroment Matt is living in. Weather it be a dorm room or apartment or maybe even a house. Again i could be wrong....but it isnt uncommon to have multiple locations and people working together

I know my post is slightly pointless....but i just found the palm thing kinda amusing and wanted to give my little observation =)

So you think that the palms of the hand and soles of the feet of a person should match identically in color to the tone of the rest of the skin?

The palms and the soles of a persons feet lack melanin. There is some melanin present, but much less than the rest of our skin.

Lord have mercy on the stupid. But if there is a rapture, I think they should die first.

Holy crap you people can miss a point....(and take a thread way 'round the bend)
..I don't know or care who or what race the hand or palm is attached to or if it's Matt's or not. The point is...he is representing that snake as his...and two things are obvious from the pic...one, the enclosure is dirty...two, there are multiple snakes in it. I would not keep my snakes in such conditions...and if I had a partner who was keeping my/our snakes in such conditions, I would part company with him and I sure as hell wouldn't use a pic that he took like that to represent my animals...and if it is Matt in the pic because "The palms and the soles of a persons feet lack melanin. then he still should come and explain why he chose to represent his animals with pictures of them in obvious sub-par housing.

umm...as i said...i was simply making a usless point...much less useless the some points made in threads...but i even admitted it was useless....you had mentioned that the hand may not have been his...so i gave my .02 cents...i wasnt trying to miss or hit any point you made...i just didnt feel like getting any deeper then my slight amusement at your comment about his hand!

i was not rude to you...nor did i bash anything you said or any points you made...i made the point at the start of my post that i was not defending nor attacking anyone....so dont you dare take my bored response to this thread as not thinking his conditions could be very much improved!!! nothing in my post was about his race....simply the tone of skin and how you mis represented it while trying to identify the hand. Travis just wants to feel justified for doing business with Matt, and he's crapping himself over the idea of being ostracized for supporting Matt in light of the new photos that have been provided.

If you put his brain in a horse it would run backwards. Pathetic, but a funny thing to watch I would imagine.

I could absolutely never be offended by something that a stranger said to me on the computer...lol...the idea of it is hilarious to me..lol..your right, you were not rude at all nor did you bash anything...the basher stuff was for Bill...he loves to opine in every post on here and usually it's bashing...not always...just usually...and I love to argue so I knew if I worded my reply that way I could get his dander up...In truth I love most of Bill's posts...they crack me up..but they are rarely on topic...doesn't mean they aren't good...so don't worry man no offense taken, now or ever.

Just to be clear I never once thought about ostracism over buying from Matt. My posts here, both in his defense, and in criticism of him, have been my honest opinion of my personal dealings with him and the successive information brought to my attention regarding his CURRENT husbandry practices. but now that you made me think about it I have absolutely NO fear of being ostracized for posting honest details about transactions and honest concerns about the welfare of animals in the forum intended solely for that purpose. The horse thing was on point though...nice.

Uh ya. Less is more. Rather than speaking a quick to the point statement you decide to draw it out. This leaves you open to making mistakes in your words of choice and can make others make judgments about why you chose the words you used. It also sounds like you are becoming defensive. If facts are expressed then no defense is necessary.

i think the last post Matt made was pretty good as far as trying to make a point that he is trying to be better

now with that said...there would have to be alot more proof and hard work towards his animals before i would consider buying from him. I do like to think that everyone can improve themselves....so i wont label him as awful...maybe just took on more then he could handle alone, tho there isnt a good excuse for poor house keeping on your animals. But he did seem sincere in wanting to further improve his habits

it will take time and work for him to improve his reputation, but i have seen people go from bad to good...so its not impossible. And i can only hope for the best, becasue no matter what there are people out there that will buy from him, good or bad.

WHOA man...Harsh turn...I though we were just having a little fun here...apparently I was mistaken...it's unfortunate, I was excited to find this often heated forum that just also happened to be about my favorite thing in the whole world. I thought all the bashing was just to spice up the threads...but I'm new here so I'll play nice until I learn who can be prodded and who can't. Man..now I'm bummed. Now I have to say I'm sorry critical bill, I meant no offense, I will leave the opining to those who have been here long enough to have earned the right I guess. At least I can get back to my charts now(work rocks). Have a good night all.
