    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Karma and PM abuse

You're just too nice, Kelli. ;)

It all boils down to the individual's reason for using the karma system. Some people use it merely as a means to get back at people they don't like. To me, it should be used when someone posts something helpful, makes a good point, etc. It should have nothing to do with whether someone agrees/disagrees with or likes/dislikes someone else.

Unfortunately, there are always going to be people who abuse the system, whether on message boards or in traffic. The best we can do is warn/remove these people when necessary and move on.

No, I have no good expectations for you and I'm sure you will not disapppoint. You were nasty to me then, you are nasty now, I do not expect you to change.

However, all this is getting a bit off topic. If you have any further comments, you can email me. Or leave them in karma, you're good at that.........
 
After some consideration, I've decided that we need to keep personal issues personal, it is certainly not helping the decorum of the board to post as I did, so I'll offer my apologies, and try to spend some time right now reading and enjoying this site that I like so much.

Anyway.... Posts such as the above, are why i do tend to like the negative karma function. But since i no longer can use that function, i will simply state as much.

I give out good and bad karma, i like to hand out bad karma when people post untruthful mean spirited/overreacting negative responses that dont belong in a thread, or if i disagree with their general attitude in a post.

I dont give negative karma out just because someone tends to disagree, that'd be wrong.

But if people are going to whine every time they get a negative point ( Though, i recently "whined"/Reported "abuse"*Not much of a big deal, i just simply brought it up* because instead of a negative, someone retaliated by giving me a Positive karma, saying that "They wouldnt give me a negative because that would be childish".... Because i gave them bad karma for a post they made in someones ad.
.... Yeah, wrap your head around THAT logic!? hahaha. ) Then by all means, leave it as it is, and be done with it.
 
I just found out about this whole "Karma". Supposedly someone gave me bad Karma on a post where i was telling buyers to beware, and he IM'd this nasty message that my bad Karma was taken away or something.lol
Till now my participation on this site was just posting ads in the classifieds, but this whole Karma ordeal sounds very childish in my opinion.It's like slashing someones tires cause you don't have the balls to knock him out.
 
Interestingly, I just checked and you have no karma (good or bad) listed :shrug01:

Who sent you an IM with a nasty message? how about posting this nasty message you got about a karma hit.
 
If the message was an Instant Message using functions outside of this site, then that really is not our concern. Anyone can be contacted by someone else from info found on this site that they have provided, which is not our responsibility. Nor do we have any valid authority over those alternate mediums when used by the members.

However, if someone uses Private Messages, karma comments, emails that go THROUGH this site, or regular posts within threads, then yes, that IS under our authority and we have a say over how they will be utilized.

I have no intention of dragging myself nor my mods into the middle of every PERSONAL spat that exists between members. All I am concerned about is how this site is USED by the members, and that is what we will focus upon.

I was referring to your jumping into Garden State Tortoise's ad selling spotted turtles stating you could buy them a lot cheaper elsewhere. You said you were just trying to "do him a favor".
