In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Outbackreptiles.com

You just answered why we don't need to know the whole story.

well i do think his potential customers should know the quality (or lack there of) of his animals because there is NO excuse for keeping or selling geckos in that condition. that is poor husbandry and poor ethics.

I recently bought 10 babies from this breeder

Does it matter!!!!
the point is u should not sell stuff like that!!!!

Yes, it matters. If the OP was deceptive as to who purchased the animals....for whatever reason, her word is suspect. There could be a variety of things going on here, and would not take the Op's word for it without some sort of documentation. From what has been read so far, if these are the animals in question, the deal was with her aunt, not her.

Hopefully, this matter will be resolved quickly.

There are many questions that have to be answered before you or anyone can condem Outback.

Such as.

How long has the op owned them.

Is this the condition they arrived in? can you provide pictures the day they arrived?

What conditions were they kept under.
(its possible they were kept in a cold bed room with no supplemental heat.

Maybe these geckos never received proper supplementation of calcium and vitamins.

lots of questions need answers before you can condem anyone, keep an open mind till you see all the facts.

And have a nice day!:)

According to her thread on GF.net, the OP's Aunt ordered the geckos, they were shipped to the OP and recieved in the condition shown on 11/25. They were clearly sold in poor condition, there is no excuse for sending out geckos that look like these ones.

I think that it would be better if whoever bought these leos to come forward and talk about that , he said, shes said wont work here.

ed,

here is a thread on gecko forums about this and she got them in the same day the photos were posted http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=52942&page=3

Thank you for the link Robin, it gives a little more insight to the situation.

A line of communication has opened between the op and Outback, that should lead to a positive resolution, hopefully she will receive replacement leos that will put a smile back on her beautiful face.

I would think that the OP is most qualified to speak since she received the animals and they are under her care. Regardless of whose credit card paid for them they should never have left Outback.

I'm glad to see that Josh (Outback Reptiles) is trying to resolve the issue to save face and try to keep his name clean. As a consumer, I know that I would never purchase from him though after he avoided the main issue.

His first post states that he never sold any animals to Jazmin which might lead someone on the outside to possibly believe that Jazmin's story was complete BS from the beginning, instead of stating that he sold them to her aunt. My belief is that his statement implied that the animals were not from him or ever in his possession.

Jazmin in her post on the other site states that she was asked not to post on the BOI and she appeared to be following this until encouraged by others on that site.

Regardless of who made the purchase, these WERE his animals and now they are Jazmin's to deal with. This is all out in the open now, trying to keep it low key now is pointless.

ANSWER the main question Josh! Did you sell these animals in THAT condition. If so, EXPLAIN.

UNTIL then, enjoy the deserved BAD GUY label.

I am the Aunt that bought the 10 Leo Geckos... We received them on the 25th and my niece is the one that works with our Leopard Geckos so she came up to my work picked them up and took them home. My daughter and me work with Crested, Gargoyle and Bearded.. I was not going to respond because I originally requested that my niece not put negative comments on any forum. But seeing that it has been done let me explain that I contacted Outback about the first one that was obvious with issues. They apologized and credited my account the cost. Now when my niece started observing the others she determined problems with two more. An email was sent by my niece due to my request - I was not able to email. Outback did not recognize her as a customer. Plus they did not get the email till they were back working today - it was Thanksgiving weekend. They contacted me - again apologized and offered a credit. I did not want this mishap posted due to the fact I believe mistakes happen and it should not hurt a company for a mistake. I can guarantee these animals are being cared for by my niece and she is round the clock working with them. They will not be bred by no means. I personally think Outback responded quickly. I can not answer why they were shipped. But it must have been a complete oversight and one of those mistakes I am sure they wish would not have happened.

so this is your excuse for outback reptiles for selling animals in this condition?
No...at the time of my post, th OP had given no proof that she had received the animals pictured, or that they had come from Outback. If she had given accurate details of the transaction, I probably wouldn't have said a word. Outback made contact to rectify the situation, and another voice of condemnation wouldn't have added positively to his thread.

Helpful information, and to reiterate, I only posted earlier to respond to the question of why details are important. The OP did not follow your advice about posting e-mails and proof, which would have prevented any question as to why she was contacting Outback about animals she never purchased, as they originally stated.

I would think that the OP is most qualified to speak since she received the animals and they are under her care. Regardless of whose credit card paid for them they should never have left Outback.
I agree. Let's hope they make things right, and don't let this kind of thing happen again.

Thanks for the clarification. I personally wouldn't deal with them based on the condition of the animals, but the confusion was quite understandable. Personally, if they stepped things up insofar as husbandry, their customer service doesn't seem bad.

Confused???? but in the thread on GF jasmine stated that they offered her a measly $15 credit, did i miss something??? Why would u offer credit to someone u don't know???

I sold the geckos to her aunt not her. I called her aunt to see if there was a problem when I saw this thread and was told it was her niece who posted the thread without any knowledge of the deal.

Josh answered this in post 12 in this thread here on the BOI.

Leopard geckos should NEVER be allowed to get in the condition of those in the photos posted. That is pure neglect, and long term neglect at that. It takes some time for them to get in that condition. My guess would be not only lack of proper calcium supplementation, but long term starvation, plain and simple.

Jazmin, you did the right thing by posting this thread. I understand that your aunt wanted to keep it quiet but you did a good thing by warning all of us in the leopard gecko community about Ouback Reptiles. Personally, I feel that even if they do offer a credit/refund/or some other sort of compromise, they are still horrible sellers that should be ashamed, yes ASHAMED to allow these beautiful animals to deteriorate to the condition we see them in here. Not only do they have mbd but they are emaciated. Shame on you Outback Reptiles.

This is just a guess, because the OP did not mention how much she paid for these animals... But, it very well could be that the $15 credit was for one gecko?? That is about the going rate for them these days..

Of course i agree that animals in this condition should never be sold or shipped out.. but, i am happy to see that the seller is willing to make good on them without hesitation.

Still and all, unless he has a very good reason for shipping out animals in this condition, I would avoid his animals.

In my experience, sometimes some less ethical breeders (this is not a slam, so if it doesn't apply to you, don't take it personally) assume that some of the "newbies" wouldn't know a sick animal from a well animal and that by time they realize something is wrong, it's too late and the illness can be be argured that the buyers husbandary contibuted (real or imaginarily) to the issue in question .

Been there, done that.

This thread was posted by someone who has no involvement with the deal between us and the buyer. I sold the gecko's to Debbie, not her niece.

We took a large group of leo's in on trade and some of them were not in the best condition. Our leopard gecko guy is putting weight on them with xtra calcium to get them back on track before we sold them. When I was packing her order I packed up a group of babies by mistake that were the ones we were holding back to work with to get them back on track. I was a mistake on my part and I take full responsibility for the mix up with the wrong babies getting sent. I got an email from Debbie that one didn't look to good and told her that I would credit her ( thats where the $15 came from).
Aas for the Niece, she had no involvement in the deal so when she emailed that there is a problem I had no idea who she was and figured she had the wrong company. When I saw this thread and saw the comment about $15 credit I put two and two together and called Debbie to get everything situated.

Hope this clears everything up.

I am one of the people who encouraged Jazmin to post here. I'm glad she did. The leopard gecko community needs to be warned about people who sell unhealthy animals. I know that I will never buy from Outback after this. It just shows a lack of caring for the animals.
