    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Don't Trust Fed Ex Quick Quote

Be careful of Fed Ex's quick quote. I recently got a quick quote for $83, then when I did the detailed shipping it ended up being $113. YIKES!! big difference there. And that was with my discount. And what's with the fuel surcharges and residential delivery fees?! fuel costs have come down, but they still charge the fuel surcharges.

I prefer to use Fed Ex, but their price increases are causing me to look into SYR.
 
Quick quote doesn't account for box size and weight. If you want accurate numbers, do a detailed quote and plug in the appropriate numbers. Those kinds of surprises suck!
The residential delivery fees have been there for a while....long enough that I don't recall shipping without them. I understand the gripe about the fuel charge, but UPS hasn't dropped their rates, either.

I generally push for FedEx to FedEx, which results in about a $10 reduction (you can usually switch to Standard Overnight, and lose the residential and signature charges)

Whoa!
How heavy was the package?
I only saw a charge that higher (actually a bit higher) when I shipped 2 adult bloods overnight.

8 lb package 17 x 13 x 13 I double boxed to be sure they would arrive safely. I even dropped the by 10a.m. which was quoted at $143. I shipped by 12p.m. for $113

I did put in the 8lb weight in the quick quote. I've learned my lesson, I won't be using the quick quote ever again.

I just paid $98.45 for a 25 pound shipment sent priority overnight.
Sounds like they gave you the shaft if this was on your account.

Yes, I do have an account. It does seem like I got robbed. I'm gonna have to look into it a bit.
