In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How can I do this? general search

Is there anyway for me to create a search that only looks for new posts among the discussion forums? Something like the 'New Posts' except that it would ignore all sales posts.

I'd really like to read/contribute to the discussions but it's usually 200 posts and 190 of them are sale ads. It gets tiring trying to find actual posts.

I did try to figure out how to subscribe to certain forums but I didn't see where to do so. Can you point me in the right direction?

When you are looking at the mainpage of a given forum, you will see 3 headings. Threads in Forum (followed by the Forum Title), Forum Tools, and Search this Forum. Click on Forum Tools, click on Subscribe to This Forum.

I understand. However this site's name IS FaunaClassifieds, after all... :D

What would you do if more long term lurkers fell out of the tree and turned out like me anyway :shrug01:

We'd probably have to get you a new ban hammer then

Based on the statistics of total registered members, members who log in every day, and the number of daily posts, I would say that the greater majority of visitors here are lurkers and are not inclined to post. Heck, we are normally getting over 1800 registered members logging in every 24 hours. I think this place would be really hopping if every one of them made a single post every day. But alas, that just is not the case. Perhaps some people are just content to have their name show up on the list of viewers. :shrug01:

Heck, we're getting around 50 new registered members every day now. I would hope at least some percentage of them aren't going to be content to solely be lurkers and will actually participate. But that's really up to them. In the internet world, you really ARE what you post. So I guess some people just prefer to be nobodies here.

Man, that is not what I want to be reminded of after like a week long posting spree in HELL :(

I knew poking you could be dangerous, but nooo I just had to go and do it anyway

I'll try to get some pics uploaded for some family friendly type threads, if nothing else I have a pile of lumber sitting in my living to brag about :D

Dont post this then...

Bell, you will DEFINITELY not want to post that screen shot showing your internet search engines then :rofl:

Yeah.... That REALLY would have made it tough to do.... But quite honestly, it was VERY close to happening.

I've made a lot of purchases from the classifieds here since then that I wouldn't have without the BOI staying. I was very serious about only buying from people I know in person if it was closed down.

Every single person I've bought online from has you to thank for my cash being in their pocket.

I make sure they know I checked them out here first on the rare occasion that it's not from one of these classifieds.
