• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Moderator (s) needed - apply within, please.

I would like to remind everyone that being a mod here will be no picnic. So nominating someone just because they are your friend, is not actually a very kind thing to do to them. Most of the current mods here have been cursed at, made enemies, and been threatened with violence numerous times. They have to jump right in the middle of very heated and emotional discussions, and invariably get someone pissed at them in the process. The mods have to tell people who are highly emotionally agitated and already in an argument with someone to simmer down when that is obviously the LAST thing on their mind that they want to do, and that often turns the sights of one or more agitated people directly towards them. Any new mod will certainly experience the same thing, so they do need to understand the volatile nature of being a moderator on FaunaClassifieds and in the Board of Inquiry.

I will expect any new mod to put in enough time to help out the current mods, otherwise nothing will be gained here. Personally, I would want to take a close look at the date they registered and compare that with the number of posts made to get a feel for how much time they have spent here in the past, and how much actual participation they have given to this site. This is important. The reason I want to add one or more mods is because the current mods need the help. And getting a new mod or mods means they are going to have to put the time in to help them.

So please nominate people that YOU think will do a good job as moderator to help THIS site. And they need to only accept the nomination if they know they can help. That is what is really going to count here.

:iagree:

Also, I'd like to nominate the following individuals...

Ken Foose

Donna MacGonegal - WingedWolf

Donna Moorhouse - SamanthaJane13

Steve Schindler - sschind

April Yohn - AbsoluteApril

Oh, HELL! Love you, too, Polasian.

I'm honored-REALLY.

Why not...count me in...I accept.

I've got nothing better to do, and I've always craved power-NOT!!!

LOL-you know what they say about payback, right, Nick??

Be careful what you wish for-LOL!!

I have experienced all of that already. :yesnod:

This sounds like my normal day at the office... and these guys have the means to pull it off should they choose. Not to worried bout online folks.

Thanks, Webby-

I do understand the whole concept.

I also come with SOME experience. I have two daughters-10 years apart (31 & 21)-and a mom (70) that I constantly have to run interference with. The 3 of them constantly SNIPE each other.

None of them have been killed or attempted to kill me, and I've never been arrested.

I also belong to a few nearly unmoderated forums, and have had to lay down the law several times when posters thought nobody was watching and decided to make someone their chew-toy.

I have developed an acidic tongue (without saying things that would get me banned) and most everything rolls off me like most charges rolled off John Gotti (RIP-Telfon Don!).

I may not post a ton, but I READ almost everything that's posted on here-and I LEARN.

Sometimes I just feel that keeping my big mouth shut is better than saying something I'll regret when I'm being punished for using it.

So, while I don't look at this as a picnic, if elected, I think with a bit of training, I can hold my own and not come running to you crying.

I definitely think this is a way I can give back to Fauna.

And I'll get even with the person who nominated me later and off the forum. LOL!!!

Not to sound like I am copying Kens response but I don't think I could give the job the attention it deserves. I really do appreciate the nomination.

Thank you

Steve

Same goes for me. My busy season is around the corner.

I understand Rich. I will be attending college to be a police officer. I have a certain amount of patience and can diffuse volatile situations.

I wish I could help you out Rich. I really do. For me it really is a time thing for a while. I may have lots of evening time for a couple weeks, and then none for several weeks. I'm sort of on call for a big military expansion project, and my work will follow me home a lot.

Just feel I wouldn't meet the obligation at the moment.

Death Threats...... People wanting to beat you up...... Emails and PMs..... People hating you.....

Sounds like home to me.

SOme will know what I am talking about..... I know Rich does.

I am hoping that all of the quality people who are throwing their hats into the ring will use their talents to help out Fauna no matter what the outcome of the election. There can only be one winner (depending on whether Rich wants one or more mods) but after the election each and every one of y'all can help make Fauna a better place.

You don't need to be in blue to defuse a situation, any member here can facilitate a de-escalation using patience, humor, understanding.

An extra mod will certainly help the board, but having people who want to help can mean that a particular situation will never rise to the point of needing a mod and that would be a blessing to everyone.

I hope all who run will make it a point to stick around and help. If you are running because you love the site and want to help, you CAN help, ALL of y'all......

Lucille, I agree 100% with you. I dont expect to win, let alone be in the race, but I will still be posting as I usually do
